Diana 52 .22 first impressions

Haven’t decided yet how to improve my sight picture .  I put an old peep site on just for kicks and it didn’t seem to sharpen my sights up much. Spent all my fun money on gifts for others this Christmas so a scope purchase will have to wait. Besides, between work and weather I haven’t fired a shot in 2 months.

Have said it and will say it again. Get a Vortek pg2. Shot cycle will get super short, no noises from the spring, less recoil, more accurate. Thats the best thing you can do to the rifle. 48/52s can be worked on without spring compressor.

My .177 takes eggs at 70+ yards. Everything below 50yards is no challenge. Have been shooting the stems of wineglasses at 40-50 yards.

Good scope for the money is Hawke vantage A0. Worked on my 48 since 2017.

I had the unique opportunity to use a 3x32 scope on my .22 d48.  It really was a sweet combination.  I really did like the reticle on the Sightmark!  I did a write-up for Hector here on it:

Recently got back my AOA 52 that Motorhead tuned/slowed down and now have about 100 pellets thru it. I've already decided the scope I have on it is not worthy of the 52s accuracy, I have several Hawke 30MMs I might try. Agree with Steve, $$ well spent.
