If it does you have a problem .As mentioned too lose a fit or to soft of lead for the speed of the bullet known as stripping . Marvin

Marvin, You've collected lots of lead from shooting ranges, have you ever noticed many stripped bullets?  I would think it only happens when someone is experimenting with a new bullet or load, and as you said, something is really wrong.  Seems like if it happened, accuracy would go out the window.
 
So I guess my question is (sorry, a slight deviation from the topic), if the bullet or pellet was just starting to strip, would you notice it right away by crappy accuracy?

I find a lot of striped bullets on the pistol range . But I think a lot of that is most inexperience shooters just buy a pistol and shoot it at 12 yards to feel that they have their home defence covered . They are happy to shoot a 18 inch group at 12 yards .A striped bullet is worse than a smooth bore . Marvin

There are lots of articles and calculators about twist and spin, and all of them make interesting reading.... but they are aimed at PBs.... I was EXTREMELY pleased to find that calculator on the Border Barrels website that gave distinct, specific information on SUBSONIC stability.... If anyone finds any other information about stability and twist rates for subsonic bullets/pellets.... please let me know....
