Slugs In My "Pellet Barrels"

I've got some slugs and sample packs coming in hopes I could find one that shoots well in my .22 BSA R10 or .22 Marauder.  Now I know the common consensus is that you can't really get pellet accuracy from a slug in a "pellet barrel".  But I think I can get that accuracy between one of these guns.  Basically, I want a slug that is just as accurate as the gun's favorite pellet.  Otherwise I personally couldn't justify slugs for the type shooting do within 100 yards or so where i'm looking to maximize "precision".  Oh... and when I say "pellet barrel" I just mean it's a barrel without the proper twist rate and choke etc...for a slug's ballistic profile ya-de-ya-dah

Smallest group was .6 inch ctc for the 16gr JSB and for the slugs the smallest group was .65 ctc for 27.5 gr NSA.  Check photos for more details but some slugs were within .5in if you threw out the "flier".

These groups you see posted are all from my BSA R10 at 50 yards.  You'll see the NSA .217 and H&N 21 and 23gr slugs.  As well as the JSB Hades and JSB 16gr pellets as baselines. I've found the 16gr are the best pellet in the R10.  I was hoping to get some NSA .218 sample pack to try as well but they are sold out...if anyone has some let me know.  I've got some .218 H&N, fx slugs, and jsb beast on the way. As far as my shooting setup...it's the "ole bucket and sticks".  Been shooting that way from the beginning no looking back now

nice that you're finding a slug for your pellet barrel! 😊

What velocities are they shooting at? Have youe seen a drop in muzzle energy in comparison to pellets at the same tune? How much?

My MRod liked the .218s better than the .217s.  Like, a lot better.
