Just picked up a Titan GP at Walmart.

My Dad bought me a Storm XT on closeout from an online retailer. It looked nice, but shot like absolute &^^&. I put 200+ pellets through it and the accuracy was all over the place. Not to mention it had the worst trigger I have ever felt. (This is coming from a guy who has been shooting firearms for decades.) So, I took it to WalMart and they let me exchange it (+$40) for a Titan. I was glad to be stepping up to a .22 and the thumbhole stock was attractive to me although it was an awful color.
So, immediately, I like it MUCH more. More confortable stock. Quieter. Seems more accurate (at 25 yards) and the cocking seems smoother. Still, same crappy trigger, so I ordered one from the owner of these fine forums. I also stripped the stock and am in the midst or refinishing it. I will post pics when it's done.
So, I just wanted to say hi!
And one question: Please recommend a decent 3-9x32 scope for this bad boy..... Thanks!

Welcome Adam, nice to have you with us on GTA. You picked a fine shooter. I have the .22 titan and it's a real nice shooter. As for a scope, here is one of my favorite scopes.. great for target shooting or hunting and the price is right
I've bought over a dozen of these from optics planet and have never had a problem with them.....

I'll be looking forward to your future posts and again, welcome

Thanks guys! The WalMart scope is tempting because it's right there. The leapers looks like a better scope, and I like the flip up covers. Nice touch. Tough choice.
BTW longislandhunter - I grew up in Northport. Left in 1998. Live in VA now.

I forgot to say WELCOME!! I love my wallyworld Titan. It has proven to be quite a capable gun. I have taken starlings, squirrles, a crow, and a possum with mine.
It is said that Leapers and Centerpoint are made in the same factory. My Centerpoint from Walmart came with the flip up covers also. The Leapers Jeff posted has an adjustable objective and the Centerpoint does not. The Centerpoint has a lighted rectile and the Leapers does not. It is personal preference. Both are nice scopes. I went with the Centerpoint because I could walk into the store and purchase it (and return it if needed) and because I wanted the lighted rectile. I also did not want a scope with an A.O. I prefer to have my scope as simple as possible for hunting, but wanted the adjustable magnification. The Centerpoint was a great fit.
Try the RWS Superdomes and H-Points in your Titan. Mine loves them!

Welcome, Adam!
I too, am a Titan fan. I originally had a BSA 3-9x32 on mine, but wanted something different. I got a Leapers 5th Gen UTG 4-16x50AO and mounted it using a one-piece mount. It is a beast! In retrospect, a 3-9x40 would probably have been sufficient. Here's a look at mine:
And yes, the GRT-III trigger makes a huge difference -- worth every penny.
You might also want to add the brass pivot bushings available from Gene.

Welcome aboard Adam. Hope you enjoy your new Titan.
The Leapers 5th generation, or the Leapers UTG line of scopes are very tough scopes.
I have both 3-9, as well as 4-12(UTG SWAT model), and they've both been good. I've had the 5th generation scopes that I sold with other rifles, and they are still working great. I think either power will please you. I kinda like shorter scopes, but I'm sure you'll find something you like. Hope this helps, and again, Welcome!

I have the leapers, the Longislandhunter linked. I love it. NIce and clear, BUT....I not a huge fan of the flip covers. the hit the gun when your changing the range on the front of the scope. I shoot at 20 yards and I have it focused for that distance. The other day I had to shoot at 5-7 yds and the flip cap prevented me from getting the full spin. sorry I don't know all the fancy words for the parts of a scope.

I have a CenterPoint 4-16X40AO illuminated reticle That I bought at Wal-mart for $70. I believe it's identical to the Leapers. It's lasted well over 1k rounds on the Gamo Whisper .177 and now sits on my new Benji Titan .22. Just ordered a picatinny rail from Pyramydair to mount it higher. I feel it sits too low on the Benji even though I'm using the one-piece mount from my Whisper.

Hope you like your Titan. Give that new gun a chance to break in, and try a variety of pellets before passing judgement on it's accuracy. It takes some time - 200 shots may not even be close to being adequate.
Firearms experience has value but these spring guns (Nitro Piston Included) are a whole different animal. No 2 guns are the same how they like to be held and what pellet does best. I have both a Storm XT and a Titan and find them very comparable as far as accuracy goes, in fact I would even give a slight edge to my Storm XT. Have Fun!

I have a Storm XT with a Leapers 5th gen 3-12x40AO and a Titan GP Bushnell 3-12x40AO. I Storm is seasoned and shoots half inch groups at 30 yards. The Titan GP is a week old and still smoking a bit (but way less than when new) with a few hundred shots through it and is shooting 2" groups at 20 yards. I'm hopeful that the Titan will calm down with a few hundred more shots through it and be in line with the Storm.
(Once I get the Titan in line I think I'll buy a Venom.)
