And yes that would be a really big problem for me too, and I guess for everyone that would be affected by such a Air Rifle no matter what Make or Modell.

Here is where the media and Diana are failing to explain exactly what the problem is. Is the safety untrustworthy, or will the gun just go off by handling it? I see it as akin to a Nissan airbag recall where it was stated that "the airbag can suddenly go off". Does that mean that you shouldn't drive your car, even to take it to the dealer for a fix?

I wish that someone like PA would jump in here and explain (since they do have a dedicated voice here in the forum).

Also, since there is a fix, they know what the problem is and could easily explain it. To make such minimal statements as "The air rifle can unexpectedly discharge" serves only to strike fear, at least as far as I am reading it. A simple statement such as "Take care when handling the rifle when cocked as the safety may not be working properly" would at least make the issue a bit more clear.

Certainly, owners should have the rifle fixed or obtain the fix kit and do it themselves as was implied in this report.

Although only about 1400 rifles were affected, this could be a big deal if not every one of the rifles was fixed, and how is Diana to know who owns them if they were not all warranty registered? The answer to that is indeed public announcements and news reports, but do it WITH CLARITY, PLEASE.

I just bought a used gen 2 from baker last weekend and it arrived yesterday. Did a google search to find the reservoir size this morning and came across the recall notice. I dry fired it twice and it seems to have a zero stage trigger. No first stage and no creep at all. I put it away after that because I have no way to fill it right now. I'll take a 5 minute walk to the scuba store when they open in 30 minutes. Anyone know the res size? Trying to decide what size tank I want to buy by how many refills I can get.

Oh boy. I checked that specs page twice earlier. How could I have missed it? Maybe I dained my bramage. Or maybe 3rd shift is killing me.

All the warning said was "Hazard: The air rifle can unexpectedly discharge even if the safety is engaged. This can result in a serious injury or death."
A safety not working on an air gun would not particularly bother me, but one firing without touching the trigger could be a problem.

I agree.  I almost never put any of my guns on safe because I don't believe that such feature really exists or at least I wouldn't trust anyone's life with one.  In my opinion safety comes from safe handling of the gun not from a small mechanical switch.

I remember making adjustment to the trigger on my MRodAir Varmint (Gen I)to readjust and back it off because the safety did not work. I had to find the happy medium where the trigger felt good t me and the safety still functioned.
This was well before Diana was even in the picture.

I have 2 of them , one in .177 and one in .22, Artemis PR900W, how to tell if it is gen 1 or gen 2?

On Gen2 the front iron sight is behind the moderator, on the Gen 1's the front sight is infront the moderator.

I have the sight behind my endcap of the barrel, im not sure now,, will take a picture later an post here, the latest models of Artemis PR900W here where I live have a threaded end of barrel with a protecter on them..

im sure there must be a way to look at the trigger and see if its gen 2?

Gen2 have two set screws and two access holes in trigger guard for the trigger adjustments.
 Gen1 have 1 set screw and no access holes in trigger guard.

First pic below is the Gen 1. Second pic is Gen 2. Notice the muzzle, front sight and bolt knob on each.
As aside note.... if it don't say Stormrider than it's not a Diana branded gun. If it don't say Diana then it ain't a Stormrider rebranded for Diana and it ain't gonna be a Gen 2... plain and simple.

On September 11, I contacted Air Venturi about sending the needed trigger RECALL repair parrts so I can safely use my Stormrider GEM II for squirrel hunting. As of today (Day 17), I have heard nothing from them. 
Have you heard anything, or been contacted, or received the repair parts?
If not, do you have any idea how to get results?

I have two trigger upgrades on the way - I think.

Another update:
A trigger upgrade arrived in this afternoon's mail.  It consists of a trigger specific brochure and a whole rifle brochure.  There is another little bag with three Allen wrench keys, a small screwdriver, and the new/upgrade trigger.
I followed the written directions and had the job completed in about 20 minutes - which includes re-airing the rifle.  (I did use a bit of Silicone grease in reassembly.)
Side note:  This is a higher quality trigger than the previous GEN II trigger, and better than the GEN I also.
