Airmax Dominator vs. ATI Nova Liberty help with decision

Outstanding shooting Stephen, it really is remarkable how good the Liberty can be in skilled hands!!  I am going to place an order for some of your slugs soon.

Stephen, a quick update, my first outing with slugs with the .25 Dominator was not a great success. I zeroed the rifle with the H&N Baracudas and then shot some Neilson 34.7 gn, some Rat Sniper slugs that weigh 30.9 gn, and last some H&N Grizzlys 31 gn which my Airforce Condor loved. Shooting at 35 yards none of the slugs would group acceptably. I don't think the gun has the power to stabilize the slugs in it's current configuration. The Cudas are shooting at about 845 at the muzzle, and JSB Kings hit about 900 fps average, so maybe more power would help?

i heard somewhere slugs love 950fps and above. i could be wrong.
   
i shot 910fps with 32.8grains slugs out of my gauntlet .25 and it was doing 2 inches at 100, which is okay for me. i have not shot any slugs thats groups better.

Hey Steve, using slugs is a bit or miss thing as I'm learning. I think it has to do with length of slug, twist rate and velocity to get it right.

Duy, someone told me they are shooting my 20 grain slugs at 750fps with good accuracy out of a Springer gun.

Stephen, which means you have a working slug design. and Steve needs to try again with other slugs

Duy, nothing at all against slugs, but my Dominator does so well with the Cudas and JSB Kings that I will probably stick with those for now. I just sold my Airforce Condor and am looking for my next high power adventure, probably a .30 cal and will definately be looking at slugs then.

Well... after much thought I ended up going with the Liberty. I ordered one in 22 with wood furniture this morning. At 307.00 shipped it just seemed like very good value for money. Now I just hope I get a good one. Thanks again to everyone who helped.🙂

Steve, there is not a bad thing about Libertys to worry about. Liberty owners simply need to check for accuracy and leaks. if those two checks out, its a keeper.

I think I would say the same for the Freedom/Aspen pumper/PCPs as well.  (See my list below...grin)

I received my liberty Thursday and I must say I am very pleased so far. As far as fit, finish and overall quality it seems very good for the price. I finally had the opportunity to put some lead down range today and accuracy is excellent. I had my best groups with H&N barracuda match. I haven't shot it through the chrony yet but I suspect it may be pushing the lighter weight pellets a little too fast. As the regulator settles in I'm sure things will only get better. Muzzle report is not too bad and I do plan to 3d print an air stripper and some baffles to go in the shroud. I just wanted to give everyone an update and say thank you once again for all your help.
