Has anyone with swaging equipment tried to produce any frangible ammo?
It seems like a lot of people here are into pest management and would benefit from said item.
Only downside of frangible ammo I can see is dumping all 30 fpe or so into a squirrel head might get a tad messy.

Just what material did you have in mind to make them out of?
I tried lead dust years ago but it packed together so well the slugs usually acted like solids. Tried mixing with other powders as filler/matrix to stop that but had mostly erratic function, you never knew how consistently it would fragment, sometimes in flight.
Chopped cellulose fiber mixed with lead dust did the best but it took the maximum pressure from my Corbin press and bullet weight was all over the place, no matter how carefully I mixed or proportioned it into the cavity.
I had no need for them really, just had gone to a carnival where there was a shooting gallery with 22Short and wondered how they would work in airguns. Gave it up as not needed for anything and more trouble than it was worth experimenting... And had other stuff to experiment on that WAS worthwhile.

Ya...it would probably be a ton of work and up front investment costs to get anything worthwhile.
In my head I was thinking of something like a Barnes Varmint Grenade made into a SWC.
A round good to about 25 yard for pesting around the home.
I’m pretty new to the swaging process and have only had a little experience with cast Minnie balls for muzzleloaders.
If I understand correctly it would be a three step process. Make the cores from powdered iron or other metal. Then make a thin lead jacket. Finally load the core and form the bullet. Is that about right?

Actually I believe the old carnival shooting gallery bullets were graphite but I could not get enough pressure even with a 10,000 pound press to get them to hold together, they must have had some binder mixed in.
Reading fun (interesting n educational tidbits)
It only took me two minutes to so an internet search with a good search term to find hundreds of articles on frangible bullets.

A PDF

And why not for hunting or defense
https://www.shootingillustrated.com/articles/2011/3/25/frangible-ammo-for-self-defense/
Of course, I've got a bunch of Inceptor copper dust/nylon bullets that shoot nicely in air rifles because they are light, chamber/engrave easily and have a hydraulic shock producing nose (NOT hydrostatic) but are 'frangible' when striking a hard surface. And I bought a bunch at $22.00 a box to get a good supply
For shooting in my .357 Texan, WAR FLEX+, Benjamin Pitbull and soon the AAA Slayer... I like .357, yes? I use them for feral hog control in populated n urban areas where you don't want to be throwing lead slugs around. Slow down fast too so not too long a range for misses or over-penetration (good for less than 100 yards)
And several companies make frangible copper powder bullets that look like a regular FMJ bullet (To HARD to easily chamber in an air rifle though)
