A lot will depend on the kind of fpe the rifle makes... 120 need to stick to light short stuff... 300 fpe well that will get 150 grain stuff to about 950 fps...
so yep the first question (unspoken) needs answered first...

That is basically correct, since more powerful PCPs generally use heavier bullets.... For the most part, the longer the bullet (which usually means heavier) the faster the twist rate that is required.... A lot of .30 cal PCPs use slugs that are 113-120 gr.... and if they are flat-based a 22" twist rate is probably fast enough, for a boattail maybe 20"?.... The 135 gr. BBT works in a 17" twist, while the 154 gr. BBT needs a 14" twist as a minimum.... If you are talking a converted .30 cal pellet shooter (where 26-42" twists are used, although some barrels are as fast as 16"), that is shooting 65-70 gr. slugs at 100-140 FPE.... they usually work great in a 26" twist barrel....

I was looking at talontunes .30 condor plus they sell the 1:26 twist barrel. And it seem I had read that the 1:14 twist could be used with a heavier bullet. was thinking about doing my talon 25 that had been setup to shoot 62g 6 rings slugs would be a candidate. To shoot .30 cal bullets but have been told just go buy a Texan. Not really big on spending $1200 on a new gun. I have since changed my mine and am going with a .257 build with the talon.
