I've really loved that 177 Hammerli 850 ever since I got it more than 2 years ago. I'm only now figuring out just how good it really is, especially shooting lead-free pellets out to 75 and 85 yds.
I recently got interested in the Know Your Limits (KYL) competition for 22lr rimfire and now 22 airguns.
The official targets for KYL can be pretty expensive, so ... in the true spirit of airgunning, I tried to figure out targets for 25 yds and 75 yds that wouldn't break the bank.
Gr8Fun in the UK (thru Amazon) makes a set of 6 spinner targets that get pretty small (down to .6") for 25 yds and DoAll makes a triple spinner (3", 2", 1.5") that could work for 75 yds. I also make my own, metal, "Shoot N See" targets out of RACO circuit box covers (Menards) that I paint black and dangle from a shepherd's hook.
At 25 yds, on a good day, I can hit all 6 of the Gr8Fun spinners and at 75 yds I can hit the roughly 5" BDT pretty much every time; both sets with the COČ Hammerli 850 if it's not too windy.
It's only recently I've gotten that good at the 75 yd range.
And, I'm shooting lead-free GTOs too. Very nice pellets for lead-free.
So ... more fun with targets!
Here's a YouTube video that shows the the KYL shooting from this year's Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge.

HAve always like the Umerex co2 850...so I'm bias.
Never took the rifle out to 75 yards, but found 25 and 50 nyard .177 groups were good (great for a co2 rifle...lets say "PCPish").
So pleased you took the old girl out for a 75 yard "spin"....do think they are (1) over looked as co2 rifles and (2) too often though as HPA condiadates.
HAd a LOVE/HATE relastionship with the rifles over the last few years.
Out the box (no picture):
Loved the accuracy and sure cyling (at least of thisexample).
HAted the 88/90gr. air srouse power supply,
Tanker converted:
Loved the same accuracy and a boat load of shots.
REALLY SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT ALONE (i'd likey still have it).
HPA converted (no picture):
Got into the "power thing"(and the cold weather use thing) and converted it to HPA.
BAd choice for me...I hated it.
Faster...more energy...but an air hog,no better accuracy, and it kind of lost that "pick it up and go"reliablity of co2.
In the time fraom, the only really good paintball tank filling shop closed....the bulk fill tanks had gone out of hydro date....and I really didn't have the heart to start over.
Lucky I found a buyer who wanted one....so away it went rather than be reconverted back to co2.
But I really kept a warm-spot for the co2 version, and kept my eye on the rifle....wanted to push the buy button, but never did.
Until AirGun Depot had a short run of 12gr.(2X12gr.) versions made in wood stocks .
Basically a weird repackaged combination of the Thor stock/barrel and an 850 action/ dual 12gr. adaptor.
Repackaged new version:
Love it...but kind of which I had never done the HPA conversion to the firest one...it's been a long road between then and now just to get back to where I started.

HAted the 88/90gr.
Yup. Pricey and non-removable without losing the COČ.
I added tip valves to spent 88 gr. cartridges and learned to recharge them; one in the gun and always one spare. Now they are removable and <$1 to recharge. Nice. No pumping. Self regulating. Original stock.
I'm glad I didn't end up converting mine to HPA. It's been a very satisfying rifle.

Guys
I have been using these off/on valves for my 850/QB/Gauntlets air tanks,
works with either Co2/HPA up to 3000 psi.
The first one is kinda expensive with all the extra tips,
I got mine off the Bay for $35 total with all the tips etc.

My 850 is PCP converted now,but when i ran CO2,to avoid 88 grams cartridges i bought a 2 x12grams adapter from Walther.Much cheaper than the Umarex one and ideal for short shooting sessions and can be hided under the original forehand cap too.

I have the same converters for all my rifles, 1/2 - 12 gm cylinders,
up thru the 88-90 gm cylinder (have over 50+ OEM filled).
So i just decide which to use for the shooting session,
except when the G-son is around, I need a 45 CF tank for him,
along with a mini truck load of pellets, he sure know how to expend them etc. LOL
The last shooting sessions, I have been using both the 17 & 22 Co2 Ham 850 @ 40-50 yds,
for the no bandits around the cluck house, with decent success.

I found that just bulk filling the 2 x 12g adapter worked best for me.
