LONG RANGE SHOOTING QUESTIONS

This target was shot at 100 yards with my RWS-460, 22.  The rifle was actually zeroed at 45 yards and was shooting consistent 3/4" groups, so I decided to see what she would do at 100 Yards.  Aiming right at the bulls eye, my first five shots landed in a 2" group about 14" low.  I adjusted my aim point accordingly and shot the attached target.  I also shot a similar second confirmation target.  FYI, my rifle was shooting JSB 14.35's at 870 fps.  I was shootin off of a Coldwell bag.

That's excellent for a springer! My hats off to you. I've shot coffee cans and even soda cans at 100yds with my Hw95 but I could never pull off groups like that. In fact I have rimfire rifles that won't do that..

went back to the range yesterday and learned a few things. The first thing i learned was ;if your shooting a pcp and a springer, shoot the springer first. i just could not hit much with the hw95 after shooting the 850 for an hour. which explains why i did so well with the 95 the first day. it was all i shot.
2nd thing i learned was 1 1/2-2 fpe really makes a difference at 100yards. after 48 shots , my range significantly dropped even though it was still shooting a single hole  at 25 yards it barely reach the 100 yard target.
3rd was to zoom out the scope to get the mildots all on the target board . that made a huge difference.
did pretty well with the ham850 1/2"@50 under2"@75yards and around 2''@100yards. these were my best groups of the day.
I feel like a 20 fpe gun would be ideal ,
