HW 80 .22 & Red Dot help

Hello everyone,
I posted in the German Gate in an effort to learn enough to make an intelligent buying decision for my next springer and it worked out perfectly….ordered a new HW 80 in .22 to compliment my first purchase of a RWS Panther in .22 and am anxiously awaiting its delivery next week.
As can be noted from that thread, this rifle is to be used for plinking & pest control at distances of 5 – 60 yards. I shoot reasonably well with iron sights…actually prefer them, however, as my eyes age a little help becomes necessary. My thought is to put a red-dot sight on my HW 80 after it is broken in & I learn what it likes for pellets. I did a search here and found little info since most use regular scopes so here I am posting to see if anyone can offer some constructive advice/opinion. What I have read is a little confusing to me with regard to shock. I have shot AR 10’s with red-dots with no problems and used to own a S&W 41 with an Ultra-Dot…again, with no problems. Yet, I have read that most of the red-dots are not suitable for medium to heavy powered springers. It doesn’t make sense to me that a scope that can take the hammering of a .308 can’t hold up to the recoil of a springer. I am aware of the multi-directional recoil of springers, however, that recoil isn’t anywhere near that of a .308 or a shotgun for that matter. ??
I know Leapers makes an inexpensive red-dot, but I have been told that the Bushnell 1x25 Trophy Series TRS-25 is probably the way to go. I have not seen any negatives on this red-dot. It seems to be reasonably priced at around $100 and would only need a Weaver rail to mount. Does anyone have any experience with this red-dot on a HW 80 or equivalent springer?
I welcome any and all comment……………the GTA is one great place to learn!

I am a big fan of Red Dot sights I have them on three of the 5 guns I use most. My B26-2 has this dotter on it.

I have no trouble keeping ten shots inside an inch at thirty yards with it. Pick a sight with the smallest dot you can. My Millet is a three min dot. A couple of dotters have 2 min dots but other than an expensive Aimpoint, I have not used one.
Most dot sights seem to stand up to AG recoil. I have not had one fail yet.
It seems we do the same type of shooting, plinking and pests. A Red Dot, IMHO, is perfect for this.
