Crosman Legacy 1000 The good the bad and the ugly

The good , well it's a modified 2100 classic / Remington AM77 ,it's has almost all the same part numbers . It shoots fairly straigh and has lots of power with just a few pumps........ 3 pumps using a BB can punch  a hole in a tin can @ 20 yards.....5 pumps will go through one side of a metal trash can @10 yards....dime seized groups @10 yards with pellets ..I can hit a small Coffey can @ 50 yards  3...4 out of 5 shots with pellets and 8 pumps ...I have a 10" cast iron pan painted florescent orang  nailed to a tree 58 yards out , With 12 pumps I can hit it with BBs and pellets using open sights  ,it's a fun gun.

The bad ...well I'm on gun # 3 ! 
On the first gun , after 2000 rounds give or take,The forearm cracked were the pins connect to the linkage assembly and the assembly was really worn out/ sloppy.

On the second gun, one side of  the pin holding the arem on the assembly linkage popped  out  ....

The ugly ...NO crown on any of the guns    good thing I got this to shoot BBs  All 3 guns have scratches and marks. The NEW aluminum pump rod grinds agents the inside of the pump tube,oil helps but dos not last.I can see aluminum flakes in the oil around the pump cup  ..

That's not the same pump link that was used on the 2100s.
The ones I've seen have 2200 stamped on the left front side close to the main pivot.

The best pump arms IMO are the old 766 versions with the protruding rivet.
They're designed for a 4 3/4" stroke vs 5" for the newer guns.
They also used a 1/4" longer brass valve which really helps the 22 cal guns.

Since the gun sounds like it's powerful and accurate, you may just wish to get a 2100 pump link and adjustable piston.

Your right.  I looked at the older linkage on the 2100. It was much better.. but now if you look you will see the 2100 b/AM 77 and 1000 all have the same part number for the linkage assembly.. unless I'm looking up the wrong thing ?

I ordered a few in 2016, cost $7.05 apiece.
Might try Crosman on Monday as they may still have some.
Otherwise you can get them on Ebay.

Thank you for the  info .I will look on eBay ...but  2200B013 from crosman is the same part # as the legacy 1000. I just ordered one  ..I will post picks when it comes in..there is a 22 stamped on it just like the one on the legacy ....

Man... Makes me glad that I still have parts to build maybe a 766 Legacy. I was tempted to do it just yesterday but the Legacy 1000 wasn’t on sale.

I remember the black Walmart 1377 pc77s from back in the day. Those pump linkages had a hint of weakness. None of the non Walmart versions felt like that.
