Thanks again Motörhead and the rest of you for your advice. If nothing else I have one of my guys on cloud 9 tonight that his Marauder now gets 100 regulated shots. This guy bought his Marauder about 3 years ago and has put, no joke, 190K shots thru it. He is retired and shoots every morning and most afternoons. So I guess I need to start researching how to rebuild a Huma reg as I am his gun doctor. I feel fairly confident after my results today and it will be interesting to see if Marauder #1 will respond in a similiar fashion and raise it's shot count from 72 shots up to 100 or close to it.
Now for a new twist on this I have a question. The two Marauders I have discussed so far were Gen 2 rifles. I know of at least 3 Gen 1 Marauders in use here at my range. Once the word gets out of our success installing the regulators I am sure there will be more requests. The Gen 1 & Gen 2 differed in that the valves are slightly different. The Gen 2 vavle is supposed to be more efficient. Since the valves are different would my recipe work the same? In my mind it should. With a reg in place it is metering the air pressure that reaches the valve and the valve is mearly the device that releases the air. Is my thinking correct?
