Geo and NCED, thank you for sharing experiences on how different pellets perform as far as accuracy.
NCED almost exclusively shoots a hw95, and Geo posted results from an 880.
That leads to the question.
Is there a consensus on pellets that shoot well in Springers, vs pellets that are accurate in MSPs?
If I lined up a D34, HW95, CZ634, on one side, and lined up a 397, 880/901, and 2100 on the other side- would there be something about the pellets (head size, weight, thickness of skirt, etc.) that would cause them to favor a certain type of powerplant?
Just a thought?

I would think it would be more along the lines of which pellets a specific gun likes and not so much along type of gun lines.

Agreed! You can take two of the same make & model rifles & they may not like the same pellet. Although, there are pellets that have a higher success rate than others, each rifle is unique.

Another agreement with these guys.
Regardless of power plant, the most accurate pellet is almost always a JSB (or Air Arms) or H&N dome.
For JSB, generally the 8.4gr or 10.3gr in .177, the 15.9gr or 18.1gr in .22, or the 25.4gr or 34gr in .25.
For H&N, either the Baracuda or Field Target Trophy in .177 or .22, or the Baracuda in .25 (the FTT in .25 is unusually light and I have not had good results with it).
