First post but do not feel like a stranger.
I have been reading many posts on this site. The group here is a great community with a lot to share. My decision to buy a Trial NP AW (it's .22) was shaped by the experiences and information posted here. I will be using it mostly for pest control, and the relative quite aspect of the nitro piston (or getting a quite AR) was important.
Tuna Trigger In - Thanks for that reference (that was on the way after the first 10 shots with the factory piece of metal that you pull that releases the piston).
I haven't had a chance to really break the rifle in yet, but have seen variance in grouping size and found some who have recrowed to improve accuracy (didn't know about that).
I pulled the barrel shroud and after some close inspection (had to buy some magnification), would say there isn't really a chamfer at all but almost straight step in to the inside ID of the barrel, and riffling. I am going to use the brass round screw technique and lapping compound, and take it easy to see how it looks. I pushed some pellets through the barrel and it feels consistent all the way through. The only exceptions to this is the breach end, and the muzzle end. Pellet stops with resistance and you have to push harder to get it through (TWSS). Also when you look through the barrel from breach to muzzle you can see what looks like burs at the muzzle end. Looking the other way doesn't have the same visual.
I am having some issues in getting images inserted, but will try with a follow up here.
