Springer airgun scopes without spherical aberration?

The best scope I currently have is a UTG 3-12x44 Bug Buster. It has significant spherical aberration around the edges- that means fish bowl effect for those who are wondering. I'd like a similar scope that has a clear field of view to use on my HW97k. However, I don't know much at all about airgun scopes. Manufacturers and retailers never include in their product descriptions how much spherical aberration the field of view the scope has. So I'm wondering what scopes are out there for springer airguns that have a clear field of view? What have y 'all found?

You picked the worst scope for this.  It is so short that something had to give optically.  Plus they are inexpensive. 
My Optisan Mamba Lite and Cobra both have clear glass out to the edges.  If it bothers you, turn down the magnification!

Think about why Pugs and other short nosed dogs can't smell very well....

I didn't want to put that UTG on my Weihrauch at all. I had to take it off of my Hatsan Dominator just to have any scope till I select something to buy that would be worthy of being put on the Weihruach. Then the scope will go back onto my Dominator. I like all the features on the UTG and it serves my needs sufficiently. However, I don't care for the spherical aberration and that's really my only complaint with it.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into those scopes. I'm hoping some more folks will chime in. I'm gonna take my time on this. The UTG will do for now. I just don't like having my Dominator being out of commission. It just looks so sad with those empty scope rings on top of it.

I always keep the magnification as low as is necessary to see my target. However, I wasn't aware that upping the magnification increased the fish bowl effect. Although, I did suspect that the length had something to do with it. I've always been an open sight shooter and can be squirrel-head-shot good out to 50 yards. So, scopes are kind of new to me.

I got to looking at the scopes retailed by Trenier and right now the Aztec Optics have my interest. I really like the reticles in the Aztecs particularly how the crosshairs don't actually intersect in the middle. Instead, there's a wee dot at the intersection. Now if I can verify that they are rated for use on springers.

The reason you're having this problem is probably the scope is not close enough to your eye for proper eye relief which is around three inches with most scopes. The Dominator's scope rail needs an off-set mount to get good eye relief with most any scope. A Bug Buster being so short makes it even worse.

I've experimented with eye relief and cheek weld and all that. You are correct that a one piece offset mount or the like would be a good choice for a Dominator. As it is though, the scope is good enough for use on my Dominator. I'm just wanting something really nice on my Weihrauch. No big deal- just shopping.

Don't mean to jack my own thread but,  I'm new to GTA and am still learning which gates are for what.

I have inexpensive scopes that are perfectly functional, but the more expensive models tend to have much better images.
For around $150-$220, I'm really impressed with the Vortex Crossfire II, and also the Bushnell Legend 3-9x40SF, Trophy 4-12x40SF, and Engage 4-12x40SF.
The Leupold 3-9x33EFR is also excellent, but pricier.
I was surprised to discover the relatively expensive Burris Timberline 4.5-14x32AO has lots of fish-eye.
I just picked up a Hawke 2-7x32AO and Mantis 3-9x32AO, each for under a hundy, but I haven't mounted them yet.

Per Lefteye's suggestion, I experimented with adjusting the magnification and parallax on my UTG and actually found that the higher magnifications produced much less spherical aberration than lower magnifications which is opposite of what Lefteyeshot had suggested. Interesting. I had been doing much of my shooting with the lowest magnification I could and still see the target center. I'll try uping the magnification a bit for now on.

I certainly do not agree with Yogi's insistence that my UTG is "the worst scope for this". If he/she only knew what other scopes I have on hand... Such as my $13 CP I have on my 1377. Yeah, my UTG can't be worse than that. 

I've become very interested in the Aztec scopes. However, they are in MOA and I'd prefer Mil. I prefer working with metric measurements instead of the ole "king's standard" measures. So, I'm still shopping but in the next couple weeks it may be an Aztec.
