H&N Piledrivers

Just checked some .177 Piledrivers in my Hatsan 125.  This barrel has very little (if any) chamfer with rifling basically to breech surface and I haven't worked on it there as it loads easily enough and shoots well.  The .177 Piledrivers seat with moderate finger pressure.  When seated flush with the breech, I can use a probe and shift the rear of the pellet side to side enough to just see movement under 5X magnification and I can repeatedly feel a click when pressing laterally with a probe as the rear of the pellet shifts side to side.   Even when seated deeper where the probe blocks vision I can feel the click as the rear of the pellet shifts.  This surely has to create a yaw situation with the pellet when fired.

I recall reading posts where someone on this forum had done some work with H&N, maybe Hector Medina.  I wonder if H&N could be convinced to put a band at the rear just ahead of the boat tail as is on the base of the dome.  Possibly might improve the accuracy of these pellets.

I played with them in 22 cal. Not real impressed, although they do hit with a THUMP! I get very good groups with the JSB Jumbo Monster line of pellets.

I couldn't get the .177 Piledrivers to group at any velocity.
