I can't see how this will harm the accuracy of the rifle but here goes.

Speaking of an under lever air rifle, if the cocking lever extended in front of the barrel by 4 or 5 inches. Would this have any effect on the placement of the pellet on the target.
The lever would be about 1/2 inch below the plane of the barrel.

No, I don't think so. But if your rifle is dieselling or if you smell oil burning after a shot, POI will be different.

With springers, it seems one change affects lots of things, the law of unintended consequences seems to apply.

I'm waiting for Hatsan to get back to me on some parts that I want to alter. I will let you know how I make out.

Why am I doing this?  Well this Hatsan is very strong and it takes a lot to cock her. So in stead of using a cheater tube on the under lever I thought I would extend the under lever. I won't do this unless I have another under lever to replace the orginal one.

The more you shoot it, the more you will get use with it.
 The most important is that you like it ! You did put extensive  effort to extent the cocking lever just to keep and shoot her.

   I would not think it would hurt a thing. But, if the rifle was finicky with the way you had to hold it, the extra weight at the muzzle may be affected. I can see the advantage of a longer handled cocking lever on some of these high powered rifles.

The reason for the extended piece in front of the barrel was to extend the cocking lever.
As of right now I have fixed the problem of the lever being too short and causing extra oomph to cock the Hatsan.

Looking at the attached pics you can see the original lever. Next you can see that I slid a steel tube over the lever. The tube is just long enough to cover the complete lever.

The tube can be left on the lever and when you are ready to cock the rifle just release the lever and slide the tube forward about 7 inches. You may want to put a dot of white paint on the lever so you know how far to slide the tube.

I have a strip of rubber inside the tube to fill the distance between the lever and the tube. This also eliminates any metal to metal noise. This works great and will work for me.

How do you keep the extended lever closed up to the barrel for shooting because any movement of the lever when the rifle is firing will affect accuracy.
I suspect that the rubber sleeve or packer that you have to secure the extension could cause some flexing along the length of the lever.

The other point that comes to mind is that the barrel has one harmonic motion on firing and the extended cocking lever will have a motion of its own.
Maybe the two motions will help each other, maybe not.

Very cool solution. I have a B21 sidelever chinese clone of the Diana 48/52. Later they replaced the B21 with the B30. The cocking lever has a telescoping portion you can leave extended all the time and it looks normal that extends the lever about 2 1/2 inches. I don't need it. I don't know if the B30 has the same thing. My Diana 56th doesn't.

I really think you would be better served to learn to cock it with two hands. JMO two hands would be easier than and extra seven inches. But if it works it works. I have several guns that take two hands for me or if I use two hands my arms are alot less sore the next day.

I think what everyone is talking about is if that tube and rubber "buffer" combo contact the barrel and puts any pressure on the barrel when the cocking arm is in the closed position. If that tube is contacting/squeezing the barrel, it is effecting the harmonics of the barrel. You may not notice any difference at close ranges (10, 15, 20 yards), but stretch it out a bit (30 yards plus) and you may find you accuracy suffering. If you're hitting what you aim at, disregard. If you find your groups spreading at any point, try shooting with the tube extension removed to see if it is causing the problem. Either way, that is a clever fix, and I hope it works for you.
