Sloppy Tactical stock

So I'm taking one apart to see what needs to be done to fix the issue.
I'm not happy with putting tape on this one so going for a better fix.
I'll post pictures and info as I go.

What about threading it and put a grub screw with a nylon tip. Or one with a spring loaded detent? Should end up putting some friction on it to keep it tight.

One could drill and tap stuff but I plan to do it in a way that shows no outside modification or extra screws.
This is the Tactical stock such as the AT44 or the SuperTac uses.
And I'm talking about the detachable butt stock part.

 Following , I have shimmed with dense foam bit just quiets the movement.

I used moleskin to quiet and tighten it.

Well it was mainly I shot alot of guns. And alot of these tactical collapsible stocks, have play in it. Some better than others. Only ones Ive seen that didn't had some sort of friction lock on it.
