Mac-1 Sheridan mount pellet loading cut out

I borrowed this photo from another post cause it made me notice that this Sheridan mount has a cut out for pellet loading.  Is this true of all of them?  The Crosman mounts don稚 have this, I assume cause they can be used with so many different Crosman guns?

  Thinking about making the cutout myself on at least one of mine.  If I do, it will be on the left side, I am in the habit of loading with my left hand.

I have four of the Benjamin/Sheridan IA scope bases. All four have the relief cut into them just like the picture Steve posted/borrowed.

Wonder how many use it in that configuration?  And how effective it really is?  I know I would rather have a totally open area with my fumbling?  I知 always laying the pellet backwards having to grab and correct?

Me too Dave. I've been blessed with sausage fingers. I received 2 of them this week. My biggest problem was loading my Crosman 2100/2200 carbines. The pellets always went in wrong making shooting them less than enjoyable. I was very impressed with the size and heft of these. Makes them well worth the $5. Being "squeeze to open" is nice. Once you grab the pellet they hold them until you squeeze them to drop it.
