My new to me FAS 6004...

Got this beaut today for a song. How much, you ask? $200! I couldn't believe it! My best friend is a trucker(local) and has a habit of checking out pawn and gun shops looking for cool things. He found this at a local shop where he is friends with the owner. As soon as he saw it he called me and told me about it. The owner wanted $300 originally (which still would've been a great deal), but my bud was able to get him down to $200 because he does a lot of business with the owner. When he called me back and asked if I wanted it for $200, I almost jumped through the phone. Lol! I told him to buy it for me and that I'd pay him when he brought it over. As you can see from the pics, this thing is practically brand new. I was a little worried when I saw its condition thinking for sure that it didn't work. Nope! I set up my target trap a proceeded to shoot a 5 shot group at 10 meters that looked like one pellet hole. This is probably the best deal I've gotten since I started shooting 20 years ago.

I have been wanting a FAS 6004 for quite some time. Just couldn't cough up the coin for a new one.

Thanks guys. I've gotta admit that I don't think I would've paid the brand new price for the FAS, as its close to $600 for this specific model. But for $200 I couldn't say no. I've got an IZH 46m that is being sent off to Mac1 to have Tim upgrade it and it feels great in the hand, but the FAS feels better because the grip is much, much better. I'm ordering a Rink grip for my Izzy in March which should greatly improve its handling. But the FAS fits your hand like a glove. I've never held a pistol that fits my hand so well. I'm not a 10 meter shooter but bought the Izzy for silhouette and it performs great. I thought the FAS would be good for this also, but its really not suited for that as the velocity is much lower (400fps with 7gr. pellets) than the Izzy, and there's no practical way to scope it. Unless I want to have it drilled and tapped for a scope rail, but I can't see doing that to the FAS. As much as I love it, I can see trading it off in the future for a Mac1 LD or another gun of equal quality.

 The owner of the pawn shop is also holding 2 Cr Mk1's for me until next week. They're the early models with adj power. He doesn't know if they're still holding, but they're complete and not in bad condition. So for $100 for both I can't go wrong. I can have Mac1 re-seal them for a good price and that'll bring my collection of Mk1's up to 4. The owner always seems to find decent, and usually older, airguns.

Nice score, Danny!! If your pawn shop friend ever comes across an older Beeman R9 .20 that says Santa Rosa on it, I'm interested, shooting or not shooting.
