A shame the fellow didn't know where proper shot placement is. The shoulder shot is for breaking down dangerous game. Such as Cape buffalo. Not game meant for eating. Usually, no vitals are hit, making for a lot of adrenaline in the meat. That, and usually a fairly long track.Hunters have been wrongly taught this shot for decades. Back when I owned an Archery shop, I had So Many hunters tell me horror stories of lost deer, and broken arrows from the same shot.
