Building a mod 95 stock

I need to build a stock for my Hatsan model 95. With the factory stock the reach to the trigger is a stretch with my hand.
Building the stock is no problem, finding the wood is my question. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wanted to build a stock to shorten the distance to the trigger for my hand. I could do this with a pistol grip or thumb hole stock. I could even just make one with a more vertical angle on the neck.
I'm sure some guys are making their stocks.
Where would I buy wood suitable for a stock?
I don't care if I had to paint the stock instead of finish it? It is going to be a hunting rifle so I don't need figured wood.

Check out

, they seem to have decently priced wood. Hope this helps....

I don't know your level of expertise but decent wood will cost money to practice. You could start with a couple of pieces of 2 X 4, glued and clamped together. I saw where somebody else did that - perhaps even on GTA.
Some of he lumber suppliers (even Home Depot) may have dimensional lumber in something other than pine. Then again, pine is soft and easy to work with for learning.
