got this 347 as a bag of bits the other year and after a bit of searching replaced the missing parts and got it shooting ,this was a right mission and I had to chop and change valve parts from my spares box till it eventually would pressurise the valve
even though it'd take air it had a leak so this aft I decided to have another go at it
once stripped I found what I hope was the issue a minute shard of brass on the stem seal which I removed i also chased the valve thread out as the nut was tight to turn so it might not have been fully compressing the exhaust body seal
now pumped up with two pumps and will see if it goes bang in the morning
if it doesn't i see it going for a swim in the bath to see if i can pin point where it's leaking

it's not bad now but I bought it in 3 lots from ebay and it had parts missing some I had and others I got from jg
the stock has been sanded down and the chequering on the wrist has suffered so that wants addressing and the black finish has been removed ,this I'm finding on the majority of vintage benji's and dans in the UK
need to find a way of reblacking them like original finish

Can you get Birchwood Casey products there?
They have a "Brass Black" that some members here report does the job.
Here ya go, Amazon UK

I tried on my 64 dan but I think it had been copper plated under the black (possibly was destined to be a silver but became a blue instead)and the brass black I had didn't stick to it
will try on a pgp pistol I have in bits that's got no black on

I did a lot of reading up on the Brass Black awhile back and the conclusion I came to was that it did NOT give you a finish like the Bluestreak has. It's used more to speed up the process that brass goes through to get to the old "tarnished" look.

I used brass black on the brass furniture on a muzzleloading rifle and pistol a few deer seasons ago. The finish was similar to bluing but is not a match for the finish on streaks and benjys'. I use it to touch up my front sights, its more durable than a black sharpie but it will rub off with time.

I used the brass black on a couple of guns. It works okay, but you have to apply it more times than the instructions indicate.

I'm trying a brass antiquing treatment at present on a pgp gun but after one dip it went a greyish colour with some areas rubbing off
I'm going to keep dipping it and polishing it to see if it gets better
a mate told me if you dip in a solution of oxyplus stain remover and hot water it blackens brass but yet to try it
