What's quieter than a Walther LGU?

Hi all,
I'm looking for something that actually lives up to the 'Sound of Silence' motto that's written on my LGU box.
I was wondering if anyone had real world experience with an LGU and can comment on options for something quieter - I was going to go the Terrus, anyone shot both and can comment on how the compare in terms of noise?
What about a Trail NP2 and an LGU - will the Trail be less loud?
Other options? Not looking for power here, just something that shoots well and is actually quiet. I could fire my Ruger MKIV 22 and it would be quieter than this LGU.

Generally speaking the LGU is low on the noise scale of spring guns.  You can add internal baffles to the "noise supre***R" on the barrel.

You would be giving up a lot of out of the box accuracy by substituting the LGU for the other guns mentioned.

Thanks for that.. Yeah, the muzzle report isn't too bad, it's the mechanical whack noise, sounds like a pneumatic nail gun, or industrial stapler.
I was thinking of taking the spring out and cutting a couple of coils off?
Also been looking at the HW30S. Thinking that the less power will = less noise? (less noise than what I have in the LGU).

Remember that sound travels through the air, but also through solids, fluids and gels.

If you REALLY want to hear what your neighbours are hearing, then you need to step back from the gun at least 10 paces and have someone else pull the trigger.

What YOU hear when YOU shoot YOUR gun with the face close to the stock is COMPLETELY different from what your neighbours hear.

Do that test before cutting off coils or reducing the power output of your LGU. You just may be surprised.

And that is the truth.  If I'm going to shoot a springer for any length of time, I use a ear plug on the side closest to the tube.  10 yards away, the sound of the pellet traveling, makes more noise, unless we are talking magnum springers, those are just loud.  Just tell your neighbors that you're building a shed

I have.
No - the HW30S will not be quieter than the LGU. Neither at cocking nor the muzzle report nor at the action.
Actually my LGU is the quietest springer I've ever had.

Yep, cheek bone on stock will always produce huge noise. But I've had my wife fire it from a bench rest while I was 10m away and while it's not 'loud' it is very noticeable and would disturb others if shooting for prolonged period. Further, the loudness really feels like I need to be using hearing protection - it's that loud. Maybe I just have a dud of an LGU!
(Just realised that I can't post external links... But...) 
As to the HW30S sound level, there is a review of the HW30S where the guy is using a decibel reader and the sound of his voice speaking quietly is the same as the rifle at a close distance (if you search HW30S review on YouTube it's the one by Airgun Exploration and Advancement... The sound test is at 24:05) - maybe he just has a quiet HW30S?

my BSA Lightning .22 is very quiet as in if you stand 10-15 yds away you can barely hear it..Ive shot 4 squirrels out of the same tree with it and they never knew I was shooting at them except when I missed and they heard the whistle of the pellet go by..was shooting from about 20 yds away and about 40-50 ft up in tree. When I do this with my mod 48 I usually get 2 shots before the squirrels relocate, sometimes get lucky and get 3 but by the 2nd one they are getting jumpy/nervous.

If you want real quite you need to get a PCP with moderator.  All spring guns make noise.  As Hector and others have said, the shooter's perceived noise is higher.  When I attach my LDC, the shot sounds almost the same to me.  Only when I have somebody else shoot and stand away do I notice the significant difference.   Still not a quite as a PCP though......
Sometimes the loudest noise I here is the cardboard target backer, YMMV.

Yeah, the issue with PCP here in Australia, to my knowledge, is that the LDC's aren't legal (even when sold as LDC's) - someone from Aus may correct me if I am wrong! But I may look into this as an option... see what is available here (we don't have a big market for guns in general, smaller in terms of air rifles - because you need the same licence for Daisy Red Ryder as you do for a 12 gauge).
I actually cut two coils from the mainspring of the LGU this afternoon - it made it easier to cock - but really didn't drop the noise level much/at all. Although, I now think the piston may have been bouncing, because there were two perceivable noises/movements, now there is just the one. I don't have a chrono so didn't do before and after testing... but at $18 for the OEM spring I thought what the heck. I am tempted to take another two coils off and see if that reduces the internal noise overall - if anyone has experience with this I would be happy to hear your thoughts!

My next door neighbor tells me that he has heard my RWS54.  About 75' through trees and around the corner. 

That's why I sit at the kitchen table with an open window and a cup of coffee to wack chipmunks.  Coffee is essential!!  This way the only real disturbed creature is my dachshund that goes into my office and hides under my desk.  Well, I guess the chipmunk is disturbed for a little bit.

The LGU action is very quiet as are the LGV models you will find it hard to find any standard rifle as quiet as these especially with a mod added.

If your action is loud something is wrong, possible lube on the piston seal.

The Terrus is not as quiet as the LGU to my ears .
