I had one like this back in the mid 70's. Mine was a deluxe model with a sort of antiqued nickle finish action with a lighter color plastic stock than this one. IIRC it came assembled, and was priced a few dollars less than the Daisy 880 pump rifle, which was what I really wanted but couldn't afford. I think the 880 was about $27--can't remember how much I paid for my Marksman. I bought it at a department store that went out of business long ago. It's a barrel cocking repeater, IIRC only shoots BBs, and velocity and accuracy was pretty typical of average spring BB guns.EDIT: I just noticed the one in the OP does shoot pellets, maybe mine did too but I don't recall shooting any pellets in it, pretty sure mine was a smooth bore though. At the time, the Daisy 880 also had a smooth bore brass barrel but did shoot both BBs and pellets, the upscale 881 had a button rifled barrel.
