Just curious if the poly-tipped pellets have a higher ballistic coefficient and shoot flatter vs. a hollowpoint of the same weight?

Check out Harry's ("Yrahh" on the Yellow forum) post where he did actual game testing of Predators. Very graphic because they were VERY effective.

Good question, Nick as I was wondering the same thing. Will it matter on tree rats? Is it worth the expense to check?

According to the Polymag Rep, the BC on .177 and .22 cal Predators is 22-23, and 25 for the .20 cal. Not as high a BC as most domed HP, but the critter damage is amazing.
Couple of weeks ago, I took two House Sparrows off my bird feeder with one Pred from my Trail XL and there were not only two dead Sparrows on the ground, but large chunks of Sparrow innards blown out also. Starlings are DTR with very large exit wounds - even when hit through both wings.
When you use the Preds, you have to be very aware of where the pellet is going after it exits, because they don't stay in small Critters. Shot a Chipper and after the Pred exited it took an inch long gouge out of the board the Chipper was standing on, then went off into the brush at the back of my property.
Two more weeks and I get to see how they do on Gray Squirrels.
Paul.

They seem to have excellent, superior shock transfer and are effective on both fur and feathered game.

While I realize the Predators hurt stuff better than some other pellets. However, I usually have better groups on standard domed pellets.
I guess if the Predators are close enough, the damage is worth the very slight lack of accuracy. Most powder burner guys would kill for such a small group.
