Daisy 880 Arrow Gun Pressure Question ?

I figure this is the best place to ask this as you guys are very technical and are very safety conscience !!
There are quite a few guys that are using their Daisy 880 to shoot arrows with a few modifications .... My question is, what pressure do you feel is safe to set my regulator at. There is at least one guy that put a reg on his custom 880 and tested 2000 psi. The weak link may be the thin aluminum housing that holds the pressure on this mod ? I plan on using HPA not CO2, Is it safer using CO2 ?
I was planning on setting my reg at between 1200 and 1400 psi (HPA) shooting 350-400gr arrows. Guys are getting between 260fps to close to 300fps using lighter arrows. This mod is very cost effective for states that allow air powered arrow hunting !!
Thank you guys,
wll

I don't know anything about arrow guns and their safety except for one thing.... Some guys use carbon bolts/arrows instead of aluminum, and CF tubing, while stiff in compression is not designed as a pressure vessel (the carbon strands run lengthwise, only a light glass scrim provides the hoop strength).... If your arrow gun pressurizes the inside of the arrow on firing, do NOT use CF arrows.... They can blow up on firing, and send splinters in every direction.... Having a bunch of them end up in your hand will definitely spoil your day....
I have never even seen a Daisy 880, so I haven't a clue what weak points there may be in the design.... If they are intended for CO2, I would stay with an 850 psi regulator, unless you know that every part of the gun will stand more.... CO2 can reach much higher pressures on a hot day, so there is likely some safety margin built into the gun.... but I would for sure stay with the 1.8K burst disc on the output side of the regulator, so that if the reg. fails, you will never see more than 1800 psi in the gun.... Most 1.8K burst discs let go at about 1500 psi, so 1400 is about the upper limit for the setpoint on the regulator without constantly blowing discs....
IF
Daisy did their homework, and built the gun to withstand hot summer days and storage in a car in the sun.... you SHOULD be OK at 1200-1400 psi....
That's a BIG
IF
....

Thanks Bob for your input. Yes I'm very aware of the downfalls of carbon as carbon tubing is used on a daily bases in our business.
I would use aluminum arrows only, I will do more research into this project before I endeavor to try it out, I'm not in the mood to have a bomb go off in my hands !
Thank you Bob again for your advice.
