Norica Dragon Evolution GRS

I picked up my Norica Dragon Evolution GRS on Saturday. It's a very nice looking rifle with a synthetic stock, and a barrel shroud. With the GRS (Gas Ram System) it is a gas piston, break barrel springer in .177. It has a very heavy cocking stroke, but it isn't all that objectionable because it is so darned smooth. When fired, there is very little noticeable recoil, and absolutely no rattling and jarring. There is a lot to like about this rifle and I
really
want to like it. but it has the most horrible trigger I have ever felt. I don't have a trigger gauge, but I checked it out with a baggage scale. I know, not the most accurate of measures, but it'll give you a rough idea.... The scale read 13 to 15 pounds before the trigger broke (this is after putting a couple hundred rounds downrange). The trigger pulls so hard you have to make a conscious effort to keep from pulling it off-target as you pull the trigger. I hope Norica can make some improvements in future models. This is just too nice a rifle to be saddled with such a horrid trigger....

I have a Dragon GRS (not the evolution) in .22 and while the trigger isn't on par with HW, Diana etc I find it acceptable, nothing like what you describe. I wonder if there is something binding or interfering with yours?
I agree that they are a very smooth shooting and well finished rifle for the price range and mine is quite accurate and shoots @ 20+ FPE. Might be worth your while to take it out of the stock and check the trigger components out...perhaps put a spot of lube an any contact parts. I've used STP or similar with good results.

I measured my Dragon springer .25 cal at 9.5 lbs last night , so I remove the action and found the trigger to be very similar to the B2 trigger (direct trigger to piston design) so I smoothed off the contact point on the trigger with a file and lubed with molly. The effect was worth a 4 lb decrease, so I will be disassembling the gun and polishing all contact parts to reduce it further. My spyder GRS is only about 3.5 lbs so it must be a quality issue on the dragons.

Be careful if you are going to do any polishing of the trigger. I have Norica Dragon GRS Evolution Max .22 with the same direct sear trigger. I took it apart and tried polishing the sear and lubing with moly. It became so slick it wouldn't reliably stay cocked. Nothing like having a 20 fpe springer barrel snap back on you.
Ended up ordering a replacement trigger and using just a tiny bit of moly to lube the sear. It will eventually break in and lighten up.
I'm with you, with a good trigger this gun would be fantastic. The Norica Black Eagle line of air rifles has a better trigger. Wonder if it can be swapped out.

I did some more work on the trigger and got it down to 4 lbs 5 oz pull weight. I'm happy to let it break in from there.

The trigger on my Dragon GRS Evo smoothed out after about 1000 rounds. Still heavy, but I'm used to it. The gun is an accurate hammer at nearly 18 FPE in .177.

My Spyder GRS is at 18 fpe as well with a much smoother trigger after about 300 pellets.

I used a needle file, and put a slight radius on the tooth of the sear; not much at all. I don't have a trigger scale, but it is now nice and crisp, with a pull weight comparable to my Daisy/CMP 853; 5 to 6 pounds. Why couldn't Norica have done that? Not really a target trigger, but very usable. It seems to be particular about pellets. I keep a ton of CPHP's around because they perform tolerably in all of my guns. With the Dragon, they were all over the target at 25 yards. I switched to Meisterkeugln's and it made about a 1 inch group. Clearly, still not the right pellet, but tolerable. It does so well now, I have decided to send it to my younger brother as a 60th Birthday present. Not because I don't like it, but because I know he will.
