I picked up a Combro CB-625 Mk4 Chronograph on ebay for just over $60 shipped and it works excellent. It actually attaches to the muzzle of your rifle. Anybody looking for an inexpensive chrony should take a look at these. My only gripe is that you have to push a button to reset it after every shot so it will read the next shot. Kind of a pain but unless you need to use your chrony everyday then I don't see it being that big of a deal breaker. Here is a link to the one I purchased:

I bought that item from this exact seller last month and you're right it's a great piece of kit. Finally got to chrony my Hatsan Galatian .177 with my eunjin 16.1 grain pellets

It appears to be a great deal for someone who wishes to avoid the hassle of setting up a tripod and chronograph and suffers from the apprehension of shooting the thing.

I love mine. I use MacCombro software on my MacBook and connect to the Combro with an aftermarket USB cable (chronoconnect?).
Chronoconnect also has software for your PC.
Easy to set up, compact, no extra lighting.

I here they work better on PCP's than on springers.
Can anybody confirm or deny?

I have trouble on springers. I think even minor dieseling confuses it. Great on pneumatics. Marginal on springers.
