Why the Mutant never ceases to amaze me...

I was messing around this afternoon shooting at a lasered 49 yards and decided to see if I could hit one of the staples holding my target on my backstop.  You can see my first shot was low and a little left.  I adjusted my scope 3 clicks up and 1 click right.  My next shot drove the staple into the backstop so I decided to see if I could do it again and again...  It ended up being a 5 shot group (not counting the first shot).  I know the card board is a little forgiving when it comes to showing actual group size but c'mon!!!  I only cherry pick my good groups to show you guys I know I know, but nobody wants to look at 1 inch groups shot at 50 yards!  Unless you do then I have a million of those to post...  That is an 18.1 jsb for reference.  Love this ugly little gun.

Ugly but accurate.  That's no joke at 50 yds.  I got to shoot a 25 cal Veteran this past weekend, that thing was  a laser at 50.
I want one bad.

I'd love to get a chance to shoot one of the new veterans.  Ugly but accurate is true, but give it time and even the looks will grow on ya.

Thanks Robert.  It was almost all gone finally but it snowed last night a couple inches!     Ready for spring time weather....

The banks will be around for awhile I'm sure.  We had a couple massive storms this winter and I had them banks plowed about 8' high in some spots.

Nice shooting Tweeter.  Everyone of those in the group are squirrel head shots at 50 yards.

I took a picture of the group behind the cardboard.  Still good IMO but the cardboard makes it look a smidge better.  If you look close you can see the battered staple...  Poor thing.

My best 55 yd nine shot group at a metal drum in my back yard. .22 Cricket pup shooting 18.1 gr JSB at 920 FPS
My POA was the rusty pellet dent right above the hole. That's how much it dropped in 55 yds. It had punched a hole in the metal drum by the 3rd shot at 35 FPE.

I really want a Mutant, but kinda hard to justify it when I can do this with my trusty Cricket ;-)

Nice shooting Justin! People mite think there ugly but I love the look of mine over crickets and vulcans anyday but that's just me. These guns are awesome for sure I love my Veteran .25 crazy accurate just like that Mutant is. I'm glad your still enjoying my ol gun!

Great shooting there Jimmy!  I feel the same as you, I have been wanting an Edgun lately but why when the absolute best I could hope for is for it to shoot AS good as the mutant.

I remember the video review Ted did of the Ataman Ultra Compact rifle.  In it he flamed the mutant for being a $1200 gun with crummy stock and then he proceeded to shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards with the Ataman (a $1400 gun) and said that was just what he expected of the Ultra Compact for the price point.  I'll take ugly any day.

I remember that video too.... just makes you laugh.   Never even held one and he's taking shots at the mutant. 

The trigger on the mutant is far superior to anything FX has produced  .  Guess $$$ will do that to you.

I need to watch that video lol I'd be mad if I paid that much for a gun and shot that bad of groups. Both my .22 mutant and .25 Veteran were (are) able to put 5 shots under 1/2" at 50yds easy. Even my Daystate which was $999 can do that easy.

Check out my new $1400 gun, isn't the stock lovely?  She'll knock soda cans over at 50 yards like nobodys business!  If I'm feeling real frisky I might set up a couple gallon milk jugs out at 100 yards and see if I can hit 'em on the second or third shot!  But just look at the stock!!!
