Diana K98 Mauser?

Both the H&N Sniper Lite and the H&N FTT group well. I lean a bit more to toward the FTT because its a bit more consistent out of my BSA and the Xisico XS25 (Diana 34 copy). I'm trying to reduce the types of pellets I keep on hand.

I've been thinking of a way to mount a scout scope on the Diana Mauser K98 to make it look like the Mauser K98 sniper rifle with the ZF41 scope on it.

I realize that it would make more sense to mount the scope in the traditional manner but rather like the novelty of this approach since I couldn't afford to get a real K98 with the ZF41 scope.

Burris makes a nice scout scope that I've used before and would probably work if I could find a way to mount the scope in place of the rear sight. This could just be a pipe dream but does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

PS: I could probably remove the rear sight then replace it with a weaver base that was drilled with holes to match the ones used to hold the rear sight.  Use screws (with loctite) to hold the base in place then mount the scope.
