Diana front sight removal?

Has anyone ever removed the plastic front site on a Diana springer? Would it be possible to attach a hooded sight after doing so? I wonder because I was looking at the 240, just not sure about that plastic. I'm sure I will eventually go with a HW 30 but I'm curious. I'd also consider a meisterschutze.

well before u buy a 240 I think u need to read the recent post on here on the 240's that have been purchased by myself and another member here! and as far as the front sight removal u just unscrew the screw a little and tap the front sight off on those type of sights! and as far a installing a globe type sight I think they are dove tailed into the barrel! and I don't think the newer guns are made to accept what ur wanting to do!

Thanks for the response Mark. I did see the other 240 thread. That makes the decision much easier. I wish they dovetailed under that plastic though. I really dislike it.
