My choice of the Wildcat was from personal experience with FX. I bought a used FX Black Widow from one of the members here several years ago. It's been shot a lot. It's been modified by me a lot. And it will still shoot holes in holes at 65 yards. This Wildcat is a superb piece of work. I am a machinist and do work for a high end car builder. And this Wildcat has been impressive. I made an offhand shot at 65 yards this morning and wacked a banded dove first shot.
My only issue with it is it is loud. Not real loud, but loud. So a sound efficiency piece is needed for me as I clean pigeons out for a local recycler in the city limits. So noise can be an issue. But my Widow is too long to work well in tight spots and this bullpup is like holding my finger out! Talk about close quarters handy! It comes to the eye nicely, fits my shoulder like it should and just feels nice.
I figure this little rifle will last me for as long as I want to shoot it. The Widow certainly has been a lovely piece of work so how could a newer one not be improved? So yeah you can buy cheaper. But once you get the accuracy bug nothing but the best will do. My son has a 308 that will consistently shoot 6 inch or smaller groups at 1200 yards. Cost him some funds? Yep. But it hits what you point it at. I am the same way with all my powder burners. If I can't hold MOA to at least 600 yards I am not interested. And that is a minimum. Spent too many years shooting in sniper competitions to not.

Accuracy and precision are important, but not everyone needs the best. When I was competing in biathlon I shot for 2 years before buying an Anschutz--and won plenty (ok, a few) competitions without its help.
I just brought a Kral as an introduction to PCPs. If I like the platform and it gets enough use, but turns out to be a dud, I'm going to look into the higher-end stuff. The Mutant and WARP seem to get pretty good reliability reviews.
