Another question for disco owners

More questions of Disco Owners as I await delivery of mine.

#1 Pellet insertion. It seems to make sense that high scope mounts/rings would make it easier to fit a pair of sausage fingers carrying a pellet. Or is pellet loading not a big deal?

#2 It sounds like a lot of Disco users purchase a TKO suppressor. If you have, Just how much of a noise reduction are you enjoying? Half the noise? A quarter of the noise?

  i use the medium rings and don't have a problem...i live in the country and sound doesnt bother anybody.

Medium is the lowest but I went with high to make it easier and to be able to use a 44 or 50mm scope.  The LDC makes a huge difference.  The sound of the pellet hitting target is louder than the shot.

Took me a while to figure out loading under the scope, but after a while it gets easier.

I'm using med. mounts with a Zeiss 50 objective. I can slide 4 business cards under the objective bell. LOL

The TKO is unbelievably quiet for such a small dia. unit. Almost sounds like the gun is not firing correctly when you first pull the trigger after installing the TKO!  I was a little shocked,and very pleased with it!

Medium rings for 40mm scope.  Mount both rings forward of the loading port.

   Why on earth would you mount both of your ring forward of the breach? Turns your scope into its own  self destructive leaver!

Gives more loading room and allows for proper eye relief with the too short stock of the Discovery.

Using high rings with a Hawke 4-12X50 AO IR scope. Leaves about 1/16" space between the objective & barrel. My TKO is the shorter 5.5" one and it quiets the rifle from .22 LR short loud to VERY backyard quiet.

I have fat fingers and I actually find the pellet pens very useful for loading disco's too.

And the TKO is LITERALLY like an 80% sound reduction. I think if you buy a discovery and don't put a TKO on it, you're a foolish!

Now I never even notice it even when loading from the left and I have one of those big wheels on the side focus knob to work around.

Yes get the TKO if you want to tame the bark. It makes a big difference.

I'm kinda slow but I can't seem to picture how one could use the pellet pen to load a Disco even without a scope?

Man I could't even imagine hand loading my discovery now! the pellet pen just pops one right out in front of the bolt then just push the bolt forward. I have gotten quick with it too.

And the end of the pen fits right in there, no matter what mounts or scope you have.

AND it holds about 17 pellets I think? which is probably around average useful shot count someone gets in a 1k - 2k fill.

I bought one of the pellet pens about 3 years ago and fumbled around with it some and through in a drawer to be forgotten.  The posting about using it with
a Disco awakened my curiosity and it took a while to locate but now I'm set.  I'll give it another shot using the Disco.
