In my opinion these SPA guns are a great value for the dollar too, I've been having good luck with both my PP700SA and My PR900W (Airmax Varmint).  Both are very accurate and it seems like the Chinese are producing decent quality stuff from SPA.  The fit and finish is top notch in my opinion.  My Airmax Varmint is a very nice gun and last I knew the same deal was available however it might not be for long.  I paid $199 for mine which included 2 extra clips (good clips made of aluminum) and the single shot tray.  They also have the same deal without the two extra clips for $179.

Been interested in those Wayne...how does the loudness compare to the Prod?

I don't have a Prod but I do have the Varmint in .177 and the Cp-1 (pistol) in .177. They are not as quiet as an Mrod and not near as loud as a 2240. But, they are as, if not more fun than both. I wouldn't even begin to compare my AMV to my .22 SynRod unless I were only talking about weight. The AMV is much lighter and easier to pack around in a hunt situation. If I'm shooting off the bench I would probably grab the Srod first. If I were bench shooting with a youngster it would be the AMV.

Mike both stock I'd say the Prod and Varmint are about the same, right now I have something on the way to quiet mine down.  I have the TKO on my Prod and it's really quiet however the Varmint has more punch and can fling the heavier pellets much better (it likes the 21.14 grain pellets).

Today I'm headed to another state shooting preserve I use to hunt years back for deer, this will be an expedition run for me cause it's been over 30 years since I've hunted it. It was a spot my brother, friends and I would go to drive deer in the late part of the season.  I'm willing to bet there's plenty of critters there because it isn't nearly hunted as much as the place that I've been going, it's also another 10 miles further but that only puts it to about a 40 mile round trip.  I'll be carrying my Varmint today with three clips of 21.14's and my new (junky) camera.
