New CZ631... to me!

I want this to become my gopher getter. For that I need precision, not power. I can't get the pix to load or link to my album but I will try to put a few here, because this is a very well-made little rifle under a jillion dollars, that still has some old world craftsmanship.
If this gives me one more hiccup on photos, you'll be seeing a red x instead. Picture a pretty, well balanced, accurate little rifle that just got here (only like my 3rd of the year) and you'll have the basic idea.
The scope is a throw away but this is a really nice little gun!

You bet Dave, the CZ 631 and 634 are very accurate shooters. I own both and I know what you are talking about. You would be hard pressed to find a shooter in their price range with the quality of workmanship for sure.

Excellent. Congratulations on your new shooter. Nice looking wood on that CZ, too.
One quirky thing about the CZ-Slavia 634 (and, i think the 631, but my 631 isn't scoped) is that the dovetails for the scope rail are neither 3/8th nor 11mm. They are actually more like 13mm, so sometimes, you can have difficulty with the 11mm air rifle rings. I think I put a set of AirForce rings on mine as the specs said 11-13 mm. Are those Burris Sig rings on yours?
Someone obviously put some thought into the CZ air rifle design. The breech locking mechanism means that the break barrel cocking mechanism locks up very securely, making it as consistent as a fixed barrel model, and with very little tendency for barrel droop. The other absolutely GREAT thing about the CZ's is that the barrels are made to the same standard as the CZ rimfires. They are hammer forged steel and are notoriously accurate. That beaver tail stock on the CZ fits like a glove, too.

They are odd rings, came with the gun, with a little stop block behind them. No brand is visible and maybe they are Burris.
Thanks for reminding me about the different dovetail spacing. Aren't some of the Brit guns like that, too? Seems like my Lightning was also oversized that way. Maybe I'll keep them, since they seem to fit well. I am thinking either a 4x or 6x fixed would be ideal for my purposes.
The breech locking lever threw me for a loop until I figured it out. Brilliant! This should work out great. I also like the flat bottomed forearm; there is a design for airgunners.
Unfortunately the front sight is gone, replaced with a muzzle brake. The rear sight on this rifle is a lesson (for many) in how they should be built. This would have been a good little iron sighter.
Just fired a couple shots for function check so far, and we'll see how she groups and chronies over the weekend.

Yup.13 mm dovetail. Same as some BSA? My 631 is a sweet shooter but I think mine is only shooting 650fps? With midweight .177?
