Mounting a sling point on Sheridan Blue Streak

My brother drilled, tapped and mounted a Willams peep sight on my '83 Blue Streak yesterday. Came out good and shoots pretty nice (better than I do!). We were thinking of ways to mount a sling point to the front of the gun, and wondered is anyone here has ever installed a swivel sling point on the end cap of the pump tube. If so, are there any downsides to this that you've experienced? I have one of these on end of the pump tube of my 870 Wingmaster 12 ga., and thought this might be a good place to to do the same on the Sheridan.

Google images only shows one Sheridan with a sling, and the fore end is blurred, but looks like they used one of the forward pin holes for the sling point. Too blurred to really tell.

Just tap into the forearm as you would with any rifle with  wooden forearm.

If you search locking pin, curt safety pin, or loop pin. I've thought about this idea before. Also the standard Clevis pin much easier to find in 3/16. If you take the open side of the wire and curl it up so it doesn't fall out of the Clevis, you should be good. Though the loop pin seems to be the best choice as you could put the rifle to either side and the sling would just slide on the loop.

I don't think I've ever had a pumper withe a sling. Wonder if it would get in the way while pumping...

Sure would be handy though. I'd like to have one on my 140.

I had a sling long time ago on my BS.  Works fine as long as you mount it near the pivot point of the forearm.  When you pump, it simply hangs to the side.
