Could be a broken mainspring binding things up.

If it is a main spring you can get a replacement here. I would go with the GRT kit and seal. I got one in my 34 .22 and she is a super smooth shooter @ 730 FPS with 14.6 FTT's.

And don't forget the lubes. Most RWS's are build very dry. These lube are great even with a stock gun.

Don't forget a spring compressor. Do a search here there are some good plans to build your own with minimal cost and hand tools. Although it could be done (disassembling and reassembly your M34 w/o a spring compressor) few, if any would recommend it. Even if the stock spring is broke, there can still be considerable pre-load on it.

The cocking lever end maybe stuck in a coil of the spring, if so you can pry it lose but do so carefully.

No it is not difficult take a flat secew driver and tape it up so you don't scratch it up and stick it in the cocking slot where the spring and cocking arm come together and push the spring away from the cocking arm if this is the problem and it may not fix the problem you may have to disassemble the rifle to get it unstuck, here again if this is the problem, something locked it up and I can not be for sure what it is with out looking at it but this is where I'd start to look for the problem! let us know what you find out. and you can pm me if you want.
