I applaud your choices.  They are both great guns that can be moded for looks & power but are just fine in the stock condition.  I'm sure you will like them.

I'm already thinking HiPAC or regulated bottle for the 2260 and  a tube  and vavle change to 2250 with regulated bottle.for the 1300 just as soon the woman gets tired of pumping it.....

Now that I  have purchased the "ice breaker" custom shop assembled airgun I can buy individual  custom shop components ....

One thing to mention about the P-17 for those considering one.
It is very accurate. At 10 yards mine will stack pellets. Good sights and with a little skate board tape you can make the grips feel really good. Only down side is it is very hard to cock. Really a pain.
Also the stock trigger on mine is very good.
My wife can go through a 100 pellets in one session easy. cocking the P-17 a hundred times is just too much.
That's why she now has a 2240...

Coworker just dropped around $130 for a custom shop 1300KT in .22 with an 18" barrel. Nothing super fancy, but out of the gate seemed decent. Even got himself the trigger shoe too.

I just came in from shooting the P17.....at 75 feet was hitting a coke can...not every time but was amazed at the very fact I could hit it....as for cocking I hold gun in left hand by grips and with my right hand squeeze the gun together , I can do this all day....good luck on choice..

    I have a 2240 that I have put over $300 into. That includes a red dot.  I have a 2400KT, 177 , 18" barrel and shoulder stock and trigger mods. However, without a doubt, the P17 is the one I enjoy the most. I've added nothing to it. It is a super best buy.

I have two P17, still all stock,(one with red dot and one with red laser). They both shoot very accurately depending on which pellet they like. I'm the variable when it comes to accuracy.
Both have their plus and minus.
The 2240 has a modded valve and power adjuster with red dot scope. 2240 is more powerful than P17 even at the lowest power setting.
Been shooting the P17 more since I don't have to think about how many shots are left in CO2. P17's are a lot more quiet in basement and outside.

My P17 is a great gun.  Shoots straight with a wonderful trigger and functions perfectly.  Nothing to complain about.
But, like Rodney Dangerfield, it gets No Respect..
Why, you ask? 
It is too inexpensive.
Make it an $100 gun and folks will be all about how they bought a great gun for a good price.

Oh yeah.

They should put out a model with some wood grips, preferably oversized for customizing and give it a fancy new name.

Also put a weaver or picatinny rail on top. Actually all airguns should do that, dovetails leave a lot to be desired.
