I have done it again ,I am on the waiting list for a hatsan 135 QE in 25 cal.I know your out there. What are the things i need to know about this gun?. I know its hard to cock. Are there certain pellets it may like? Anything i need to look for that may go wrong with the gun? All info will be great.

I have the older version (non QE) in both steel spring and Vortex ram, same powerplant as the QE with a plainer stock. They are much like any other AG, just bigger and more powerful. As far as pellets, you'll need to try a variety and see what it likes best.

I would advise shooting with the open sights until it is broken in (maybe 200 shots or so) and if & when you do mount a scope make sure it is magnum AG rated and has a good warranty, these rifles are known to kill scopes.

Hello, name is Abe. New to forum. I got my 135 QE .25 last Wednesday and I love it. There are a few video reviews and forum posts that would make you think this thing is unmanageable, but the cocking force is not that bad. I am 145 soaking wet, 5'8 and by no means in shape, but cocking this rifle is not an issue. Its all in the technique not brawn. Moving on to the sights. First day I got it, I became frustrated by the lack of marksmanship that I was achieving with my first 50 shots. Out of frustration, I decided to leave the rifle alone for 24 hours and try it again the next day. 24 hours later, I was back at it again. This time, a slight elevation adjustment had me sighted in at about 20 yards, perfect for my backyard shooting range.

Now, I nought mine from AGD and I am extremely satisfied by the service, although the cheek riser did have a 1/2" scuff that is fairly noticiable. I attribute this to poor manufacturer packaging. Mind you, this is purely cosmetic and does not affect function of rifle.

Summary:

1. I absolutely live this thing. It is relatively quiet, compared to my first springer ($90 Gami Varmint .177). 2. Once the proper techinique is mastered then cocking force is irrelevant, and switching arms helps the process.
3. Accuracy is as good as I am, actually the rifle is more accurate than I am. Eventually, I am szeroed at about 25 yards. Meaning that I aim low for closer targets and aim higher for further targets when using iron sights. Scope is on the way.
3. Mechanically speaking, this thing is built like a tank. Cocking is strong but motion is smooth. The barrel is rifled beautifully and structural strengths on a visual level compares to centerfire rifles. Iron sights (made if plastic) have tactile clicks But not audible.
4. Safety leave some things to be desired. Made of platic and wiggles a little bit. Once again, mechanically speaking it it functions flawlessly but does not instill much confidence when made of plastic.
5. Trigger looks amazing...also works perfect, I think. My inly frame of reference when it comes to springer triggers is the cheap Gamo Varmint. I will not adjust until rifle has been broken in and scope has been mounted.
6. Stock is wicked awesome! (I am not from Baltimore or wherever they said that). Solid, walnut, bad a**!

This is my first post so I decided to go big, or go home. Sorry for the lengthy post but these are my honest thougths of what you should be aware of.

Thanks abe for the info and welcome to the forum. This is a great place for info and everyone gives alot of help. My gun is still on back order for now.I have already ordered pellets for it in 4 different weights to try to see what it might like. I have the hatsan 135 vortex in 22 cal. and so far it has been great. Time will tell.

Any other Hatsan 135 QE owners out there?

After owning this beast for 2 weeks, O cam definitely begin to make more concrete conclusions as to the quality, operation and reliability of this rifle. From the get-go, I saw a few obvious areas of concern like scuffed adjustable comb, a few metal shavings amd maybe some grease but no big deal. This thing performed remarkably well without a scope and I was happy as a clam 

Well, I've got my UTGSWAT scope mounted to it and it looks awesome! Unfortunately, I cannot get a consistent shot with the darn thing. Must be my bad aim. 

So, my only issue is that as of yesterday (2 weeks of ownership), the cocking mechanism seems to bind or toughen up mid-stroke. It almost feels like the piston does not want to compress. I can reset the barrel to locked position and try to recock which usually works. I'm concerned about this and have stopped using the barrel to avoid potential damage.

Reached out to supplier and I am now awaiting a response. Its only fair to reach out to vendor to troubleshoot before assuming the rifle is broken.

Anyone else having issues?

I would take the action out of the stock (uncocked, unloaded) and check the cocking linkage for any rough spots or misaligned parts. This would be a good time to lube any pivot points or other metal to metal areas.

Wait for the response from the vendor and see what they say. I've had really good results with the Hatsan USA service Dept. When you email them with an issue they have always been helpful and quick to respond.

Thank you sir for the suggestion. I thought about Removing the action from the stock but got worried about voiding the warranty.

It does appear that the cocking arm is slightly canted to the left. I hope this is strictly a misalignment of an external part with no damage to the internals.

I don't think taking the action out will affect the warranty, but if in doubt email Hatsan and explain the issue:

They have been very prompt and helpful with the few issues I've had with Hatsan rifles.

ABE I got mine about a week ago and have maybe put 100 rds through it and no problems so far. Even though i can cock it with one hand ,i noticed that it would try to kick the barrel to the side,so now i cock it with 2 hands. My gun loves the H&N field target trophy 19.91 grain pellets.  Still have not got a scope on it,but open sights with these pellets it will group about 1 inch at 20 yards.For me this is good. Hope you get your gun fixed correctly.

I've got one, but I went through mine almost as soon as I got it. Just like most Hasans it had some pretty rough internals but great bones to work with. I threw mine onto a modified 125 sniper stock and did a full tune on it. It is smooth as butter now, I'm getting pretty close to 500 rounds through it now and am waiting on a 6X32 bug buster in the mail for an official accuracy test, but this thing has killed a pile of ground squirrels, 7 prairie dogs and a couple of jacks already with open sights. With the open sights I'm probably shooting about an inch or two group at 40 yards, but won't know for sure until I get some good trigger time in. My guess is it'll do an inch at fifty if I put my try hard pants on

I shipped it back to the vendor for warranty repair. This is my first break barrel and was unaware that its generally a good idea to inspect and clean the rifle further than just a visual inspection and a wipe. I did run a patch through the barrel to remove excess lube and ensured all bolts and nuts were nice and tight prior to shooting. 

I gotta learn more about Hatsan rifles before feeling comfortable enough to break it down further but I appreciate the suggestions. So far the vendor has been fantastic about the situation though. On it's way back it goes. Hopefully it will be back prior to bird season.

What kind of scope setup do you all want to have? Bug buster sounds cool! Currently I have the UTG SWAT 3-13x44 with the UTG mid height rings. Not sure if this scope is built for the heavy recoil. Maybe a fixed lens scope is more well suited for this setup.

Has anyone taken the baffles out of the end of the barrel. I was cleaning my barrel and one of the cleaning patches would not come out,so i unscrew the barrel endcap and tryed to pull it out and 1 of the baffles came out. Looks like a hair curler with cloth around it. I wonder if you took them out if it would affect the accuracy or just make it louder. any answers?

Accuracy should be the same, POI may move however.  Most people when they put a muzzle break on have the POI move.  I assume the same would be true in reverse?   
Like you said, should be louder to.

It might impact accuracy, you never know how it will effect the frequency of oscilation of the barrel when shot, just food for thought
