Pellets

Anyone using the Gamo combo pack for .177?
It has 4 packs of 250 of different pellets and I was thinking it wouls be a better buy than a sampler pack.

i think you'd be better off with the samplers of jsb pellets instead. i've never met a gamo pellet that my guns liked and though sometimes you'll hear of someone who had good luck with gamo pellets they're far and few between. i know pyramid sells jsb sampler and a few other places. i'm sure someone else will chime in on the samplers. i believe some places have samplers you can chose what pellets are in them.

Straight Shooters has a really good selection of pellets to try. Never had much luck with Gamo pellets.

H&N is the only other Sampler pack I am aware of... I think any of the ones mentioned would be better than the Gamo.

I find Gamo pellets run small and fit very loosely in all my guns.  They are inaccurate and I don't use them.

I mostly shoot H&N or JSB though I have a couple of guns which prefer RWS Super Domes.

I've had good luck with Gamo Redfires in my Crosman guns.  Otherwise Gamos... Blech.  And those Gamo Redfires?  Cheapo Polymags... but only when on a good sale.  Otherwise, Polymags are actually cheaper on a per-shot basis.

The Straightshooters sampler is a great deal; 18 different pellets for $35.  Seem a little steep?  You get 25 of each type, which is more than enough to identify what a particular airgun likes.  Now if you opt to test out 10 different airguns in 3 different calibers... You'll be spending some money no matter what.

But JSB, H&N, and RWS pellets have great pellets.  And if you like pesting, Predator pellets (Polymags) should at least be tested.  Nothing performs as well, IMO, for headshots like Polymags, because there's little risk of over-penetration.  All the dead squirrels buried behind my house would concur.

The best groupings were the premier hollow points but I still get 2 or 3 out of a group of 10 that usually hit low.
I'm wondering also if I just picked up a bad tin because about the time I replaced the trigger I opened a new tin.

Game the worst I have tried. The combo used to sell for $6 but now more expensive. The Daisy is cheaper and better

Give the inexpensive Crosman Premiere Ultra Magnum domes a try. I've just recently discovered these, and I've been very impressed.

I also bought a few different tins of Gamo pellets in .22 (and .177) and honestly, none of my guns like them much (or little). That includes springers and PCPs (including a Gamo rifle)
I thought I would use them for practice, but decided they target so poorly that I use them only to break in new guns .....

For cheap plinking I use CHPs and for more serious shooting, then either JSB or H&N.

All that said, it really depends if your gun likes the ammo or not!

I'll give those a try.
Also there is a possibility the rifle is not broken in yet although I've shot 700+ pellets.
Still the accuracy is better than the 1st F4 I had.

Does Crosman differentiate between Crosman pellets and Benjamin pellets other than Benjamin come in 750 count cans and Crosman in 500 count cans?
