Yet another 2240 turned carbine

I have a 2400KT with 18" barrel on order from the Crosman Custom shop, but have a minimum two more weeks until it gets shipped. So today I took my 2240 apart and began making the adapter to attach a Tippman 98 carbine butt stock that I bought off eBay for $14.95. Since I had the lathe fired up, I incorporated a hammer spring adjusting screw, and a spring guide pin for the screw to adjust against. I'm able to adjust the spring to its maximum pressure without impeding the cocking stroke.

Today I'll deliver the adapter and gun to my brother so he can do the drilling and tapping of the adapter on his Bridgeport. Once it's all tested and operational, this setup will go on the 2400KT, and the Crosman butt sock will go on the 2240. I can hardly wait to shoot it!

I have a 2240 with a similar adaptor and stock, but not being a machinist, I had to buy mine.

I slapped a TKO LDC on mine for good measure. Fun little gun to shoot. I'm partial to feeding mine the Gamo .22 round balls, seems to digest them really well and I don't need to pay a whole lot of attention when loading.

Does your Tippman 98 stock rattle a lot, or did I just luck out there with mine?

I think you just got lucky! Actually, I've not done anything with it other than doing dry fits while turning the adapter, but it appears to be a good fit of the two parts. The adjust lever is also tight, so I haven't noticed anything unusual...yet!

 I didn't know you could buy an adapter for this combination. I just get used to making a lot of things because I have the equipment to do so, not because it's less or more expensive to buy it. It fills my idle time and as I tell my wife, it "keeps me out of the beer joint!" Lol

I ordered one of the collapsing stocks as well and it arrived yesterday.  I have not decided yet how I am going to adapt it, except that I won't be buying one of the $45 - $70 adapters

Dang, I always get lucky like that. 

Understood about keeping you out of trouble, I wish I had a lathe and the skill to use it.

I stumbled upon a similarly designed adapter on eBay for I think around $40.

I liked it because like yours it incorporated a way to apply preload to the hammer spring.

Anyways, nice job on the adapter.
