When you said rust bluing I thought you meant plum color rust. What you're doing looks like hot blue. Do you have a link handy that explains the process? That looks great!

I understand you can do this with a home brew mix, but have not tried it. Squeaky clean and degrease with acetone is the key to an even finish.

The long parts just came out of the tank, so I'll work on them after lunch. Pics to follow...

Well...the whole gun is back together, the seals are all replaced, and she holds air just fine. The problem I now have is aligning the stock so the trigger sear returns to the center of the slot after firing the gun. This is purely a bedding issue, as I refinished the fore and rear stocks, and must have some TruOil buildup on one side. I can assemble the stock, pump it as many times as needed and fire the gun, but the trigger sear will not realign to behind the sear block until,the stock is loosened. I can hear it click in place, so there's not a lot that needs to be adjusted. I was getting frustrated with it, so I think I'll go burn a cigar and water the garden. Sure could use some rain here.
