Artillery hold like call of duty sniper for me jaja

So I been going to a new site for hunting near my home but going out on to the field I can not carry my 460 rangefinder and my DIY shooting sticks
So I just take the rifle and the rangefinder but as prepare to shoot at game well my scope dances Arround the animal I just have such a terrible pulse and makes it hard for me to shoot and actually hit the head of the pigeons or rabbits

Does any one else have this issue or problem?
What do you guys do to get Arround this and be accurate?

I use a tree as a rifle rest.
Either a branch or like in this picture i found.

Some tips.
- Artillary hold. Never grip it. Not on the forestock nor with the triggerhand.
- Wear a shooting glove to isolate your body from the gun.
- Thick sweater or coat or a sanitary daiper under your shirt (at the shoulder) if you're in a warmer climate.
- Work on your physical condition.
- Walk, rest, scan, aim, shoot. More like part ambush, part stalk.
- Take beta-blockers. If you know someone with high bloodpressure that takes metoprolol or similar drug, half a tablet before the hunt keeps your pulse down.  This last one is half joke, half serious and at your own risk. But i know people who did this.

I don't shoot well offhand so I always steady with a tree as the pic in a response shows, or better yet, still hunt with my "bucket-n-sticks" like this..........

When living in WV a decade ago and hunting much more than I do now I would stalk squirrels in the early season when leaves are on the tree and use a tree for support if needed. I also took along my cross sticks that were extended to form a walking stick (helpful for getting a low crotch over barbed wire LOl) and if I saw a squirrel with no convenient "restin' tree" it was possible to open up the closed cross stick, kneel on one knee, then rest the gun on the cross sticks. This formed a kind or tripod with one support (the knee) on solid ground.

Later in the season after the leaves were off the trees and stalking the skiddish squirrels was rather difficult (squirrels skiddish by others shootin' at 'em and hawks) I would take my "bucket and sticks" into the woods, set up at the base of a comfy tree trunk where I knew squirrels were "playing", set up the cross stick and rest the R9, set scope at 12x and get a scope rangefind on all trees around at 40 yards, reset the scope to 6x and wait till a squirrel crosses the "magic 40 yard line" before shooting. Actually, under field conditions I preferred waiting till the squirrel got within my 30 yard zero distance before shooting and the "40 yard line" gave me a heads-up that it was about time to shoot. As a side note......the bucket also contained "eats & drinks" for the lazy day of sittin' on the bucket squirrel snipin'! Also, sittin' on a bucket, restin' the gun on cross sticks, and back against a comfy tree trunk made for a steadier shooting position than a solid bench rest!

LOL.......all this won't help much your offhand game, it didn't help with mine!

Get a sling, your rife is HEAVY.
My DIY shooting stick are real easy to carry, they double as a walking stick. 
Take a deep breath or two, put your finger on the trigger, exhale slowly, make sure your sight picture is right, begin your pull, stop exhaling, continue to pull. hold it, exhale completely.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Well as a matter of fact I was just about to post a question on how to mount a sling in my 460 do you know the best way to do that?

These kits come in different diameters. I don't know if this will work with your 460, but you can measure your rifle and check.

How about just putting a strap on your rangefinder and hang it around your neck? Then you can take all three.
