Pyramyd Air's bestsellers are mostly PCPs

Very interesting to note PA's high end top sellers are mostly PCPs. They sent out an email listing their top selling high end air rifles for 2015. 

1. Benjamin Marauder
2. Benjamin Bulldog
3. Airforce Texas
4. Air Arms T200 Sporter
5. Benjamin Armada
6. Sam Yang Dragon Claw
7. Air Venturi Wing Shot Shotgun
8. Sumatra 2500
9. Air Arms TX200
10. AirForce Condor SS

I guess the dark side really is more powerful.

What I find strange are a few of the top 10 PCP's are rarely written/spoken about on airgun forums, at least the ones I visit. Number 7 is the Air Venturi Wing Shot Shotgun. Maybe Ive seen 3 or 4 posts and that was when it was first released with people asking questions not posting info or experiences.

The Bulldog and Armada that I thought were failures, mainly from reading reviews on airgun forums weren't failures but top sellers. This past June I spoke with a couple of Crosman employees at a few FT events. Separately they said the Bulldog and Armada were successful sellers. Both times I said to myself they are being loyal employees because of the feedback on forums.

Also strange is how popular Hatsan PCP's are on the forums and you-tube yet not one made the top 10 on PA's list. Is it the majority of airgun owners do not post on forums or something else?

The majority of airgun owners/ shooters don't go to the forums. I would wager that Pyramid lists what "they sell", which does not reflect total sales in the US. As many years that Crosman has been around, it would surprise me if they were not the top sellers. I have been shooting for 40 years and up until a couple of years ago, I had never heard of Hatsan.

Not saying that I know anything, but it could be a marketing ploy. I can see the TX200s and Marauders being on the list from all the posts, rifles listed by owners in their sigs, etc., but some of the others not so much.
If they list a not so good seller as a best seller, it encourages people to research that item and possibly convince them to buy it. In return, it becomes a best seller.
And unfortunately, at approx. 15,000 members on this forum alone, there isn't enough feedback going around to verify what is/isn't being bought for us to verify at ground level. There are a lot of forums with members belonging to more than one forum, so an accurate count of airgun shooters including those not on forums is next to impossible to guess at.

I had somewhat the same though,

I believe it's a bit of a Mix, .....yes some ARE big sellers, but I believe some they just put in there so people go and check them out.

I buy it,  my little brother was looking in a pcp and the armada, mrod .25 and bulldog are what he was looking at the most,   also airforce.

Think like him, many guys probably go on and see the cool tactical looking ones and buy them.

Could also be a list of the amount of dollars exchanged on each gun...  In other words, it wouldn't take as many of these guns to bring in as much money as the cheaper weapons. 

Another thought, is that a lot of the cheaper guns (Crossman, Gamo, etc) can be easily purchased at stores like Walmart...  leaving places like Pyramid to sell the 'good' stuff.

I know when I was talking to an advertiser about swapping out their Bulldog ad for something that might be more productive, I was told I was pretty much mistaken, and that the Bulldog has been a bigger success than they had anticipated. It is like everything else online, the squeaky wheels tend to down out the quiet happy majority.

That said, I too am a bit surprised at the lack of Hatsans.

That's probably due to Hatsans terrible Customer Service. Great Guns, but when something goes wrong, and you need to get something directly from Hatsan, ugh!

Yeah Pyramyd is one data point. There are Walmarts, Cabelas, AOA, Midway, etc. Plus direct orders from Crosman and distributor purchases like with Edgun.

I personally would love to see sales numbers across the board, I have a gut feeling there 2 marauders sold for every  other gun combined. This may sound crazy to sum but I based on what I see around all the forums I think im right.
