Fun Shoot Donations
« on: March 26, 2015, 05:52:23 PM »
I'm back begging again. LOL
For the Fun Shoot, we need targets, door prize donations and any help possible. This is a totally different event from the normal GTA Fun Shoot...hopefully. We want to incorporate the usual reunion of members, the good food for Saturday but added the airgun show. We will have a concession area with several vendors set up to display and sell their airgun related items. If any of you have items you can donate for door prizes, raffle items, or targets, please drop me a message. We will may need some members/staff to help in different areas during the event so please keep us on mind. Hopefully our annual event will continue to grow as our forum does. Let's make this annual event THE one everyone in the airgun community will be talking about and wanting to attend!!!
Thank you all of the support and for coming out to enjoy the event!!!
See you there.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!

Is there any chance that someone from Indiana or Michigan might be driving down there?  If so, let me know.

Sorry, we have been talking about the GTA Fun Shoot for months. It was always held in Belton, SC until this year.
Here is the sticky in the Announcement Gate that tells all about it.

Dave,
I  will not be there, but I would like to send something.  I appreciate the site.
Is the address on the donation page still the one to use?

NICE ride Mike!!!
When I saw the "hole" part I expected to see a boat. I've always been told a boat is a hole in the water you toss your money into. LOL

Okay, donations are coming in and some have me very excited. I will say I have in my procession several airguns already that may be available to win in our raffles we will have at the Fun Shoot/Airgun Show. Those not used there will be used in our monthly forum raffles.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a welcome banner created and donated by Nikoman. Thanks bro!!!
Please make your first stop the registration area which I hope will be at the front entrance of the concession area. Get a name tag so we know who you are. :)
Also buy your GTA gear there. I will have caps and T-shirts. We bought these items with GTA funds and I have set the prices not to make money but to recoup expenses and get merchandise out to all who want it. If we run out of items, I can always place another order and mail the items to you. Of course we will have shipping expenses to deal with too.
Everyone who attends will get a door prize ticket. We should have a bunch of door prizes for you to win. I will have to wait and see what all we get donated before announcing the main prize.
We will have several airgun related raffle prizes. We have all the types covered, PCP, Co2, pumper and springer. Tickets will be for sale at the registration area.
Prices are $1 each - 6 for $5 - 15 for $10.
Raffle items that are donated will be either displayed at the registration tables or at the vendor areas which donated the items. A container for tickets will be placed at each prize. You simply buy as many tickets as you want and take them and drop them in the container for that prize. Then go back and buy more tickets. :)
ALL proceeds will go toward funding this event and any remainder going into the forum operating expense account.
Raffle winners will be drawn generally around 2-3pm on Saturday.
Door prize tickets will be drawn throughout the event. You must be present to win the door prizes. Raffle items, if you aren't there to personally claim them, must have prior arrangements made with me to ship to you.
As we get closer to the event, and also afterwards, I will post the member/vendor contributors and what they donated.
MANY thanks for all that donate. You are showing your support for your forum and helping make this event a great success as well as FUN!!!

Dave .... couple of things, can I give a donation via our donation link, and you can use the cash for targets, door prizes etc?

In regard to members that have asked "Where is this fun shoot"  "Can I get more info about the fun shoot" ...... Houston, we have a problem!  I assume the only way that people miss these announcements, is that when they log on, they go directly to the "how to prepare road kill gate", and never look at the areas which contain the special announcements.  I probably just ticked off someone .... who actually eats road kill.   :-\
Anyway, not sure if you can do this with the web software, but perhaps you could "force" announcement reading upon logging in.  When a member logs in, the first thing they would have to do before proceeding further, is at least open the announcement .... then they are free to go wherever they want.  The member would only see the announcement upon log in, until they open it, after that, they don't see that particular announcement again .... just new ones.  This would get the word out for fun shoots, raffles, and for your "begging" announcements.  ;D  Just a thought.

Allan, you can always use the Donation tab. If it gives you the option, just add a note in the payment what the funds are for.
I'll try to add these two threads to the forum news page but it's been a while since I did that. Gene normally handled that one.

Stretched my mind a tad this morning...shouldn't do that too often. LOL
I have edited the Home page and the Forum page with more updated announcements.
See if this helps but I doubt it. For most members, if they click on Show unread posts since last visit, they would see these new entries about the Fun Shoot.

I will be there Thursday.  Not sure if I can peel the wife away from work for the day or just early.  It is just a tad over 2 hours to get there.

I know we need to hook up to fill the pepsi bottles I am bringing and would be willing to help out with any other setup needed.

I will bring some 1" and 3" shoot-n-see targets and try to load up on decently sized cardboard to use for target backing.

I need to check as I used to have 3 to 5 of the realtor signs (they put them up outside my subdivision pointing people to OTHER places to buy, so I take them down   ;D  )

I imagine you have paintballs ?  If not I have a box (somewhere, need to locate it) of them to use for the shoot-off
