Title: Got a chance to shoot the Ace Titan 357 cal today
Post by: blackdiesel on November 14, 2015, 07:32:30 PM
I finally got a chance to shoot more with my Ace Titan 35 cal gun today.  I wanted to find the best power setting to shoot the gun around 850 fps with the JSB 81 gr pellets for the most shots.  I haven’t had a chance to mount and set-up my new scope for it so I just used the Centerpoint 4-16x44 (side focus) scope I already had mounted.  I did my usual, zeroed at 50 yards and then shot spinners at longer distances.  Today I shot out to 90 yards and this gun is a shooter.  I still have to figure out the best power setting.  It has a wheel so I set the green medium dot but my first shot measured 957 fps-whoa.  The next shot was 960 fps.  After this it slowly dropped speed but I got 18 shots in before there was a 2” drop with the POI @ 870 fps.  Accuracy wise, at 50 yards it was one ragged hole.  The recoil is not bad at all especially with the power this gun puts out.  I refilled and set the gun to high power and the first shot measure 960 fps and peaked at 967 fps before dropping down to around 875 fps at 18 shots.  I then set it to low power and got 659 fps on the first shot.  So I surmise there are different setting based on where the power wheel is set.  From reading the manual I thought there was only the 3 settings, but this is not the case.  So I’m going to still have to play around with it to get it completely dialed in how I want it.

Id say that it will get three mags in high 800s on medium.  Yes, seems to have tweeners on that power wheel adjustment.  Its accuracy is also good with different power settings, you find?

Yes.  No matter what power it still grouped well at 50 yards.  Even on low the POI dropped but the first three shots went in the same hole.  All in all a nice shooting gun.  I seem to have to fight my Ultra to get consistent groups, the recoil is higher and it seems more hold sensitive.

Any idea on volume of combined air tanks? Sounds like it right up there with my JKHan.

Wow Titan has plenty of shot capacity and very cleverly engineered. I thought i seen an Titan a while back on AAA or the Yellow going for little over 5 bills, that was a bargain if was in 9mm.

I looked at that gun at a shoot show and the ones I looked at were ready nice looking guns. Bluing and the wood was great. The gun felt good in the hands. I did shoot the gun with out a scope and the noise level was really great for the .357. The did a nice job on the baffles and it could be made quieter.
I actuality bought the gun. The gun had a leaking foster and was to be replaced and shipped. I left and on the way home got cold feet about the fpe the gun would put out? I know a stupid moment. But backed out of the deal.
Very nice looking guns they are and the build was great as well. Great to hear reports on the gun.

At that time thought it was to much for the backyard. Which it is no different that some I have. Just a glitch it thought. Big bores are not neighborhood guns.
Like  I said a glitch in the Senor citizens moment. Plus at the time I had some  guns that needed to go first before another buy.
Should be a fine gun. Just wonder about parts also was a c9ncern. They look as a clone to the RS2.
