I have become interested in the new show Top Shot on the History Channel. I don't care much about all the back biting and strategy scheming, but I do like the format of two teams competing and the elimination process. It also gets a plus for the use of different shooting platforms and weapons.
I'm sure this season has been completed, but perhaps if we were to log on to History Channel's website and request a future episode using pellet guns we might see a result.
I'm sure Crosman, or some other manufacturer would be glad to have there product showcased on an episode.
What say you guys? Think it's possible?

I watch it at times and hope that i see a.g.s ..It would be a great idea to have them compete against each other using different a.gs from pump, break barrel,,co2 ,pcp and so forth....

Awesome show, I'm glued to it every Sunday night to see what weapons they get to fire. I really don't understand where they get some of these TOP SHOT contestants. And how they select them. I know you have to throw a few in the mix of ANY reality show that just make you scratch your head and say HUH????
Where did they find THIS weapons expert???
Overall a good show. It also gives me shooting gallery ideas in case I set up a GTA shoot. ;D
Happy Shooting!!!!

I dunno.
When some of them do not shoot, yet they advance to the next round.
And how does the fact that on that one elimination, neither Kelly nor Andre play or know poker, so what does poker have to do with shooting, except as something for TV.
Oh well, they make the format for TV ratings.

My old lady watches ALL of the reality shows - Next Top Model, house rehab shows, cooking shows, next top fashion designer, ad nausea. When I was flipping and came across the Top Shot show, only to see them sitting in some kind of bleacher with a guy standing in front saying, Red team, you didn't do so well, so you have to choose two members to.......I nearly broke the channel changer. Geez, shades of Survivor and Biggest Loser! Delete me, if you please! I would probably shoot out the screen, LOL!

Well, it was TEAM shooting up till they eliminated enough folks to start individual competition starting next week. Kinda like Survivor, American Idol or any of the other reality shows. They start out as a team then individual competition. As for the card playing, that just added a little twist to the shooting competition to make it interesting. You had to shoot accurate to pick the card to make the highest hand. Yeah, I understand losing because you do not know HOW to play cards but they DID have a list off to the side telling them what hands were the highest to win. They just had to decide what hand to go for and shoot those cards. If you don't shoot too well, you can always claim you didn't know how to play poker. :)

Caleb Giddings, Danny Chapman and Kelly Bachand are friends of mine on Facebook. I've been friends with Caleb for several years now.

.
Gotta agree Red, I'd enjoy a "shooting show" alright,... but this format doesn't cut it, bingo, next channel.

I saw your post on the yellow...Good idea on sending the producers info on the airgun hobby. I do watch the show, and I'm soo happy denny is gone. I wished they used airguns, instead of those slingshots.

Shooting shows are FEW & FAR between. I welcome ANY shooting competition show. I just enjoy shooting. Reality shows like this are a craze and will die out as soon as the TV producers find a descent replacement type. But for now, I'll watch it. It's the only game in town besides the shows on the Sportsman's Channel showing folks hunting. As for those shows, I'd rather hunt myself than to watch others. Yes, you CAN pick up some hints and tips but I find them generally boring. I can't afford the type of hunting they show on most episodes anyway so I generally pass on them. Going to a preserve that animals are use to seeing humans or they are being herded toward the stands...
The only other thing worth watching is American Airgunner!!!!
So I just relax and enjoy critisizing "expert" firearms folks display their "talents". LOL
...or lack of.
And amen to the Denny comment. A cowboy that has shot a Colt Peacemaker almost all his life, yet he couldn't hit a bull in the ^&* with a bass fiddle using one???? Too funny....

Sure would be nice to see them choose a Field Target Champion as one of the contestants next season.
Perhaps set up field target shooting range, or paintballs on golf tees at 50 yards, eggs at 100, etc.
Elimination challenge could be pumping up a Mrod from 2000psi to 2500 psi then shooting 10 random targets in so many seconds or minutes. LOL...a lot like the Olympic cross country skiers.

The reality is that the reality show format is super cheap. Don't really need writers, minimal direction, no high priced actors. It's probably going to be around for a good bit yet. I used to work with a young black man who's little girl was really into rap and he told me that he couldn't wait until the fad burned itself out. That was back around 1985.
-
Thank goodness (or maybe not) there's no TV shows that have been running since 1985. Except soaps...LOL
Cop shows, hospital shows and game shows have always been around too. But they evolved. Hopefully shooting shows will too. You can turn the channel, I'll watch. I wouldn't necessarily want to be on TV but I sure would jump at the chance to compete with all the weapons they have had the pleasure to.
:)

I've seen it a time or two. I thought it was funny on the first episode where the big bald-headed macho guy was blowing off about what a marksman he was and had trained all his life for such an event (he'd trained all his life for a TV reality show????). Then couldn't hit squat when it came time to sling lead. And the cowboy guy that was mentioned that couldn't hit anything with the single action revolver. And the "kid" that seems to do pretty well with whatever he's asked to shoot that everyone keeps trying to vote off the team.
I'd be afraid that if they turned a bunch of yahoos like that loose with pellet guns it would be "BB gun wars" all over!
For some real good shooting shows on TV, check the Outdoor channel on Wednesday nights.
