They all keep a comin' , The red came in early to a pine, I took the Disco out with extremes and got to 30yds and caught him on a branch and put one behind the ear. The first grey was way off and it looked like it was running from another critter that from 60yds or so looked like it might be predator like a weasel but it turned out later I saw it was another nutter. He ran up a pine and I watched as he came down after a short time. I followed him with the Disco ( had a Predator loaded for a long shot) and at about 50 yrds he stopped and sat up with his nut. I had a shot though my pool fence and took it. He just fell over and a leg twitched a few seconds.( I was very surprised) The Predator hit next to the eye and did a blender on the fuse box. Later the another came to the bird feeder and I got a sold shoulder shot with the 850 and a SHP that took him out. Great shooting Dave!

Nice! Those 2 squirrels are the same color of the one I missed a 12 yard "gimme shot" on last Saturday lol.

Congrats! Great shooting!

Thank you guys! More luck than anything Harry :D I have done a few at that range ( one head shot last winter at that range) but to miss the chain link fence was luck. I did it a lot years ago at 30yds with the 850 on nutters and chippers also HOSP ( 1 chipper that way with the 850 this year). The predators are so good at that range for the Disco.

I have shot through my pool's outter chain link fence many times and got lucky every time. It's easy with a scope, but I used to do it with the 350 and open sights all the time :) It was a miracle the shot never got deflected, but that was no 50 yards, so again nice job, luck or not. Nowadays I just leave the fence doors open and put out bait 4-5 yards beyond the fence and shoot through the door openings if I am shooting from the ground floor. The 2nd floor windows clear the fence so that's not an issue, but I will still take a shot through the chain links if a squirrel, chipmunk or Starling forage close along the other side of the fence.
I have put out black oiled sunflower seed the last few days. I have seen 2 squirrels so far go by the bait about 15ft away from it, and never found it or smelled it. I think with the good weather and the ground still warm they are looking for nuts. They seem to go through my property quickly, not covering too much area and more in a straight line than zig-zagging. Probably because there are no nuts on my property after the Cherry tree came down. Once it gets cold though they will find the sunflower seed.
